    Question Instead of Deadlifts????

Couple of questions: what part on the back does deadlifts work on? I have lower back pain from work and when I do deadlifts. What other exercise(s) could I do to replace the deadlift. I can do all other exercises without lower back pain, so I need a replacement for the deadlift. thanks

Im not a doctor and I dont know whats wrong with your back... but I think 90% of the people with lower back problems have these problems because theyre backs are just too weak... which of course can be corrected with deadlifts.

Rack Pulls...If your lower back is too weak think of doing hyperextensions as well

well.....first, learn correct form on the deadlift. If you cannot do the deadlift (some cant due to physiological problems/injuries) then rack pulls (or partial deads) are acceptable. Use the search function to find out more.

    good luck

Take a video and the bb.com members can do an analysis. If you can't take a video, have a qualified individual watch your form.

Replacements? Trap bar deadlifts or sumo deadlifts allow you to maintain neutral aligment more easily.
