    Nutrition, Form, and Variation

Hey man, nice to hear your well on your way to breaking 135. Your getting tons of information here, so just pick what works best for you. When I hit a plateau my success lies with veering away from standard bench press and working dumbell press, low-high cable flies, incline cable flies, pec dec, anything other than bench. I ensure to take a couple weeks off overloading my chest with the bench. After that, I do a proper warm up, check my form, and add 25 pounds to each side. Then I start doing negatives. I ask my spotter to let me fight with the weight as much as possible. I'll continue doing negatives for a few weeks, giving 3-4 days of rest for my chest to rebuild, and bang, there goes my plateau. Maybe this will work for you!

    Good luck!
    Lift heavy, lift strong.

I've been on a cut forever and bench is so slow to progress in that it's not even funny. I would highly suggest working on your form honestly. The weight you bench is low enough where you should see sizable gains working on form.

I watched and read for a solid hour or 2 on bench form and I broke my PR of 205 to 235. I kept talking to myself as I did it.
