Having a hard time downing 500 calories in the morning, any ideas on how to get all that much food in for breakfast? I have seen a few recipes around here, but most of them are big, too big. My stape breakfast for the past 16 years has been Honey Bunches of Oats or pancakes on sundays..

A typical breakfast for me is...
Protien/Carbs/Fat/Calories
1 Cup Quaker Whole Grain Oats.................... 12 60 6 342
1/2 Cup of Egg Whites w/ 2 Tsp Olive Oil...... 12.5 0 9 131
1 Scoop ON Whey Protien w/ Metamucil......... 24 10 1 145
Totals............................................ ...........48.5 70 16 618
I usually throw the egg whites and oatmeal in the microwave.
Sometimes ill add some milk or some peanut butter or fruit (banana, blueberries, raspberries) in the oatmeal if i feel like it. I also take a multivitamin and drink 2 or 3 glasses of cold water. booyah

I would subsititute the [brown, long grain] rice for oatmeal, only because it is less time consuming.

Buy egg beaters that are just whites
option 2 (removing raw egg whites)
a) crack egg in half
b) hold both sides of shell with contents still inside over bowl
c) slide yolk to right shell letting the whites drain out
d) slide yolk to left shell still letting the whites drain out
e) continue steps c and d until all or most whites are in bowl
f) dispose of shell and yolk
option 3 (hard boiling)
a) pour water into pot
b) bring water to boil
c) this is a few steps in one so re-read if needed... turn burner to "off" position, put desired amount of eggs into water, place lid on pot, set timer for 15 mins
d) when timer goes off pour hot water out in sink and run cold water over eggs until they are cooled
EATING THE EGGS...
e) remove shell
f) break egg in half and dispose of yolk
g) put whites in mouth
h) chew
i) swallow

i don't see how you could have trouble getting 500 cals. 2 scoops of protein powder, a cup of milk, and a spoonful of peanut butter is over 500 calories and that's before you even eat anything solid.
A couple of pancakes like you said you like to eat, w/ syrup and a glass of milk or orange juice would be 500 calories+ as well.
