    prolab

    Prolabs whey, with skim milk, toss your creatine in there, the sugar in the milk helps with that. Blend it up and enjoy.

    Not a good idea, the casein in the milk slows down the absorbtion rate. Also if you are looking for an insulin spike for your creatine, lactose ( milk sugar) is not the answer. Dextrose all the way.

    I have a blend between 15g of Soy and 5g of whey for my protein, as well as an herbal extract to keep the metabolism up thru my cutting cycle. Not to mention all the additional vitamins and other pills.

    Thanks...

    If I can't find a pre-mixed powder like that I'll try your suggestion.

    I was just wondering what brands offer that mixture in one powder.

    There is also Surge, Relentless and RecoveryX.

    But IMO, it's much cheaper to just take whey with dextrose. I doubt the hydrolysed whey and all the other fancy stuff they put in there makes any significant difference in results for the price you pay.

    The Ultimate, the BOMB......

    In a blender................

    1.... 8 oz glass of ice water (or apple juice, or grape juice, or whatever);
    1-2.... scoops of gatorade powdered drink mix;
    3-4..... tablespoons of raw honey;
    1..... peeled bananna;
    1..... peeled orange, preferably CA navel or clementine;
    1..... skinned and cored apple (I like Granny Smiths in this);
    1..... skinned and cored pear;
    2..... handfuls of seedless grapes (rinsed first);
    1..... skinned carrot;
    1-2.. tablespoons of flax seed oil;
    1-2..... scoop of your favorite Creatine Powder;
    However much whey or other protein powder you need for your requirements (vanilla or unflavored tastes best in this combo);

    Take this with your multi-vitamins post workout.

    You get your 5 fruits a day from this one meal. I also think you get better absorption of multi's when taken in conjunction with all this raw fruit, for all the same reasons you get better absorption of the vitamins WITHIN the fruit itself. I say this because when I used to just take a multivitamin with milk or whatever, 45 minutes later .... fluorescent urine. Not with this meal.

    You get energy like you never had. Your immune system will get a good kick in the rump. You will never feel better in your life, just 20 minutes after drinking it post work out.

    This or a variation thereof, has been my post work out meal every day for years now. My entire family may get sick with colds, and I may "catch" it very mildly for a day or 2, but I rarely EVER get sick at ALL any more. I used to get sick all the time.

    I attribute a lot of that to this one meal, every day.

    Enjoy.....

    Ps: I have a vita-mix that handles all this with no problem. This can be done in a regular blender, but you might want to grind the carrot up by itself first with the ice water/juice for a minute or two, then add the other fruit. Once that's pureed, add your protein/creatine at the end and run for an additional 5-10 seconds.

    Lastly, the consistency of this drink is fairly thick. Almost the consistency of an ice cream milk shake. Depending on the power of your blender, you might need to run it 2-3 minutes. However, don't run it any longer or it will turn the fruit bitter. Also, you will need to drink all of this right away, if you put it aside for even 30 minutes the fruit will again become bitter. And yes, it is very filling and satisfying!

    NO VEGETABLES, NO FRUIT, NO MILK, NO PEANUT BUTTER, NO FLAX and NO OPTIMUM - PRO COMPLEX in your post workout shake. All of these slow down absorbtion or have a low GI. What you need is:

    1. Whey (preferably Isolate or Hydrolyzed)

    2. Dextrose and/or maltodextrin

    3. Glutamine

    (optional)

    4. Creatine

    5. BCAA

    6. Vitamins and Minerals

    To listen to you, one must wonder how I ever built a 253 pound lean muscular physique, or how I managed to reduce the number of colds I catch by 80-90% a year.... must be dumb luck.

    Between the honey, the gatorade and the fruit, my insulin spikes quite heavily afterwards, thank you very much.

    Health practitioners for years, used to believe that vitamins could be isolated and taken by themselves and be absorbed just as effectively as if we were eating the raw foods in which they naturally occur.. Turns out they're absorbed and utilized best when consumed with the raw foods in which they naturally occur. I don't know why we should expect any differently from other nutrients we expect our bodies to utilize.

    Opinions I suppose then are like noses, everyone has one. I've been around long enough to know what works and what doesn't, and I've tried just about everything the supp companies have sold.

    Why don't you try this one day and see for yourself, rather than just spouting off like some naysayer as you've done here? You might be pleasantly surprised.

    oh just cuz you look great that means your right? bull crap!
    all that fruit sugar will do nothing to replenish muscle glycogen. and all that extra sugar will surley be stored as body fat on most individuals. dont go spouting false information, just cuz you do it and look good, doesnt mean that its right.

    Really?

    Yeah, hey, why should accuracy get in the way of your opinion, is that it?

    What have I "spouted" that is false?

    Fact.... this "meal" I've recommended via blender has greatly enhanced my workout results.....

    Fact.... since I began doing this daily, I rarely if ever catch any colds.

    Fact..... all that fruit is very nourishing and refreshing post work out.

    If you want to point to "this study says you chould consume this" guess what? Someone else already has studies that point in other directions.

    All I've done here INSTITUTIONAL is recommend something HEALTHY that has worked well for me. EXCUUUUUUSE me if you disagree. If you want to get your simple carbs post workout from purely processed sugar or caro syrup, you go right ahead. I'll take fruit any day of the week.

    I thought the guy who started this thread was looking for some ideas on a good shake to drink post workout and all I've done is tell folks what I've been doing successfully for years. Isn't that what these forums are for? Or are you THE authority on all matters here?

    Rather than accuse me of "spouting false information" why don't you try it tomorrow morning after you finish your workout and see what you think. You might just benefit from it.
