Transformation from Skinny-fat to a good bodybuild, anyone?

Seriously all my hope is lost, I haven't see a picture of someone from skinny-fat to a bodybuild....it's like no one have done it

Anyone have a skinny-fat--->muscle transformation? just want to get some hope.

There are a few of us on here.

Look it's common sense. You have 2 options. Either do a strong cut for a cycle or so to shed the belly fat or just "live with it" and start bulking anyway. I chose the 2nd option--I decided to just go ahead and start bulking right away. I would post pics but I only started about 4 months ago and I didn't take any "before" pics. I've made a lot of progress using John Berardi's teachings as far as nutrition and workout programs go--although most of it is catered toward the strong ectomorph body type as opposed to the skinny-fat body type. I've gained a little fat around the mid-section and when i eat a big meal it looks like i'm about 6 1/2 months pregnant. ...it sucks but i just suck in my stomach a little when i'm out at the pool and no, my abs don't show, but right now i'm just concerned with gaining. i plan on doing a cut when i reach 220 or so (i'm 6'2'' about 200 right now, started off 178).

Gonna go search for the John Berardi nutrition.

I know what you mean, I have read alot and the best option is clean bulking, not cutting because there is no reason if you have no muscle...I know all that but what i'm trying to search for are pictures...I want a goal and if I find a skinny-fat transformation to a bodybuild then I'll set that as my goal, but most transformations here are from fat to fit or from skinny to fit, haven't see one from skinny-fat to a nice fit body.

    i'm still searching though.

    Thumbs up

I was chubby before at about 178ish at 5'8" and lost about 35lbs. I still had that belly fat but at 140 I figured I just needed to pack on more muscle. I have been weight lifting on and off but nothing ever serious, and my diet always sucked. I ate right and weight lifted and now im at 150-154 weight area (water etc) and I do have stomach definition.

Im at work so I do not have any pics to put up now, and I was always shy so I did not have any shirtless before pics. I do have a very bad picture in my profile though that is hard to see, but it is possible to shed that belly fat so do not be discouraged! I was always worried about my belly, but I said screw it and decided to change my life completely.

Thank you! from what I see in your profile you look ripped! Good to know...

I was also chubby, fat, but one time I stopped eating and got skinny...skinny-fat...thats the problem with most skinny-fat, they lose muscle....and I understand I mean I have never done any sport in my life. This is my 3 month lifting and I have seen changes even in my stomach, I still got lot of BF but will continue working to build some muscle, but I keep thinking i'm doing it wrong...
i'm eating healthy thats for sure but what I don't know is if i'm doing cardio right (3 times a week) and lifting right...5 times a week (muscle each day except legs and shoulders one day)
Anyway its really cool I know what you mean with being shy and not showing shirtless pic when you were skinny-fat...i'm having the same problem

I have a question, when did you start lifting? how long did it took?

Here is a before and after pic of me.
The after picture is from 2 years ago, I ll post some new pictures of me in a few weeks when I am down to 7-8%. Just one advice, when you bulk, do it clean, it took me 3 years to learn that lesson.
PS I know u can't really see how fat I was in before pic but my waist was 40+.

This is my 3 month I notice less fat for sure but I want muscle I know my bulk isn't the best...I'm eating healthy but can't do the 5-6 times eat a day...I'm trying....I eat 4 times right now...will try to increase with the tiime.

I can't really remeber exactly, but my waist was over 40 inches.
First thing I done is sorted out my diet, started eating 4 times a day. Carbs only in the morning. The rest was just protein. Cardio almost every day for 20-30 min. I did weights 2-3 times a week but did not really do splits just did 5-6 sets for each muscle group every time I did weights. So first thing I did was cut to about 10-11% at about 163 pounds. That took me about 3 months. After that I bulked for about 5 month eating lots of carbs and protein. Did not really count exactly how much I was eating but I did it about 5-6 times a day about 40g of protein and 70-80 g of carbs per meal. I actually did not gain much fat during that bulk I guess cause i did a bit of cardio once in a while. I got to 200 pounds and cut for about 2 month.
This is just an example of how I did but its was far from perfect and I learned alot since than.

    Hope that helped.
PS I say if ur waist is over 40 inches, cut and then clean bulk.

Yeah, I see what u mean now...
Well, I say still cut, just not to 10% may be 13-15% so u waist comes down to about 35inches or so. After that U can bulk clean. Also I think u might even gain some muscle while u cut if u that skinny.

I was really weak and overweight for most of my life. I started losing weight because I hit about 260, and that was when I made the change. I lost about 50-60 pounds slowly, I knew nothinga bout diet, but I knew losing it fast would be bad. So I cut down on drinking sodas and ate whole foods. When I hit 215, I thought if I lost another 20 pounds, I would look really scrawny. So I started lifting weights and it progressed to bodybuilding. Now I'm at about 225 with a lot of muscle, and 14-16% bodyfat, and my gut is still there. I'm not worrieda bout it. When I wear shirts, it doesn't protrude. So you wouldn't even think I had it if you just saw me walking down the street. I'm keeping all the flab on, and bulking like crazy. When I hit 235-240 I'll probably lose 20-25lbs of flab and look super cut. I'm not even sure if I could stand to lose that much. The point is, just keep working, and you won't care. Chances are, if you aren't bothered by it, no one else is.
