    Milk?

People keep saying all those things about milk, but I've been having 2 litres (That's 8 glasses) of milk (full cream) a day for over a year. I know it has fat - but besides that?

    2. Hydrogenated oils, also known as trans fats. More man made poison imo.

    3. High Fructose corn syrup, man developed this poison to keep it's endomorphic population in check, and keep the medical industry booming.

    4. Any type of food that is high in fat and high gi carbohydrate. Insulin gets spiked, fat gets sucked in. Doesn't matter if you're cutting or bulking, you probably don't want to do it.

get brown rice if you really needs rice, white rice is bad since it creates glucose spike which leads to fat gaining.

An insulin spike isn't always a bad thing. I thinnk that's been mentioned a few times in this thread.

Hey skelooth, I like all of yours except the whole wheat flour. I guess I should say specifically that my understanding is the "stone ground" whole grain flour is actually not bad. I could be wrong, but it made sense to me when explained.

Uh... Milk is good, seriously. White rice is bad, it's bleached up and nutrients taken from. Brown rice is great. White bread is bad because that's also bleached wheat and has barely any good nutrients. Whole wheat bread is better.

Stay away from fast foods, if you do eat it... stick to chicken nuggets/salad/chicken sandwhich.

Eat tuna, peanuts, whole wheat bread, milk, vegetables, fruits, steak, chicken, turkey, brown rice etc... stay away from greasy foods or fried foods.

Milk is good, if you don't mind the gigantic insulin response it creates. Milk is very very high on the insulin index.

And, for people trying to lose fat, controlling your insulin is priority number one.

You can get the micro nutrients from milk elsewhere, and in terms of calories, you may as well be drinking pepsi.

Is milk as bad as pepsi? No. But if you're trying to lose fat, and you drink milk throughout the day, you're definitely working against yourself and you don't even realize it. I sure didn't all those years.

You're right (as much as it pains me to say)! I am a milk freak, and darn it, I just can't put it down sometimes as good as my will power is! Hey, Achilles had his heel you know...

GI isn't a substance. Its only a ranking system for carbohydrates. Anything that contains CHO has a GI.

But not neccessarily the insulin index, which is the real issue unfortunately.

It's still not 'low' gi, and here's a little secret I'm going to tell you that not many people know about....

They put more ingredients in bread... than just.... flour!

Yes, that is correct, anything that contains flour usually contains a host of other ingredients.... which usually contain things like MOLASSES especially in brown breads.

Whole grain flour is STILL PROCESSED and man made. Flour is a man made creation from milling. It does not exist in nature per'se.

Also, truely healthy breads (they DO exist) taste like crap.
I've gained and lost over 100lbs more times than any man alive should. Do as I say and not as I do.

Thats an extra 64g of fat a day.
and an extra 100g of sugar.
For the love of god at least go skim.

Skim tastes horrible... well maybe I could reduce that to 1 litre skim and 1 litre whole. Somehow - because of oz-litre confusion - I thought it was 32g instead of 64g of fat...

THAT EXPLAINS WHY MY FAT ISN'T GOING DOWN EVEN THOUGH I'VE STOPPED HAVING JUNK FOOD!

    THANKS!

Yep. That puts it in the category with other unnatural foods like whey protein and flax oil.

Well, that's a matter of taste. Really good, fresh homemade bread is something I like a lot. (But don't eat tons of).

Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think everything you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told you should want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping and masturbation. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you're alive. If you don't claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned.

    That's wrong :

    1) skim milk is not very bad for you, for example, if you eat oats with skim milk is perfect (no fat).

    2) White rice : basmati rice is "white rice" but with a low GI.

    3) Bread : white bread is bad ok, but some kind of breads are good because they contain "good" carbs (low GI) and very low fat.

    3) After a workout YOU NEED simple sugars !!
