I get my ALA from flax oil, it's incredibly cheap that way. Each 1g cap has about 500mg of ALA. The 1/2 tsp of flax oil I add to my AM oatmeal has even more. Am I missing out on anything?

That would mean that flax seed oil is 50% ala?

Didnt know that, but at 39 you should watch the flax, it lowers testosterone.

Are you sure you are not thinking of alpha linoleic acid?

thats cause ur drinking it.......or the caps are disolving in your throat, drinking ala is like drinking sulfer.

From a brief search it sounds like the jury's still out on that. Seems like healthy fat in a diet raises T, but at least one study that added flax seeds to a lowfat diet was correlated to slightly lowered T, could have been to the low fat diet and that it was seeds, not oil, though (this from an article by John Berardi).

Gluco****e is by script only, are you diabetic?

People came up with the idea that 1200mg of ALA was effective back when all we had were crappy ALA supps. K-R-ALA seems to work just as good in small doses (like that in GXR, which is actually 100mg of R-ALA). I think at most you'd take 200mg (2 GXR's) with one meal, but that is only if it has quite a large amount of carbs.

On my GXR bottle it says that each cap contains 250mg K-R-ALA, so are you saying that 250mg K-R-ALA=100mg R-ALA?

I had terrible heart burn with too much R-ALA I tried to take a days worth at one time and I have acid reflux like crazy all day long. Needless to say I never did that again.

How much did you take ? i take 500 mg and i feel a huge heartburn....now i take 250 mg and all good..i think 250 mg is enough for the GDA role
