    If you're prepping for a show, then I would do a little more. If you're just trying to cut up for the hell of it, then I'd say you're good. Cutting takes a lot out of you.

    Yeah, I know cutting takes alot out of one's strength...I'm beginning to see strength decreases at this point, and an overall lack of energy, which is why I'm taking a week off from training, but staying on my diet.

    I was going to resume cutting next week for 4 more weeks, to get down to 8% bodyfat, but part of me says I should stop now. I dunno. What bodyfat % do you guys think I'm at anyways?

    if you're going for 8% you've still got some work to do. you still have some love handles. personally, i would bulk up!!!

    Regain my strength.
    Put on 5 lbs of muscle.
    Gain better overall fitness (strength, endurance, muscle)

    love handles? wtf man i think thats just the shape of his hips. I'd suggest that you carry on cutting if you wanna get shredded, but if it were me i'd stop. Either way you look good though

    If your goal is just to look good then I would continue cutting and just look ripped all summer. But if you are trying for a show then you might as well start bulking now.

    I'm gonna have to disagree. Push it a little further to see how far you can get. You won't know until you actually do it. You've made great progress already, keep cutting until you hit your 8%. I'd say you are around 11-12% right now.

    You will inevitably drop a little in strength but you will immediately gain it back when you start your bulk again. I've been cutting for about 6 weeks as well, and i'm not quitting until i hit my goal of 6%. Gotta do it so I know I can and when that comp comes next year I know i'll be able to do what I need to do!

    Those definately aren't love handles, just hip structure and obliques. Nice work so far man. Post some before pics, I would really like to see how far you've come. As far as wether to keep on or not, that is all up to you. My vote would be to continue with your plan, and after those four more weeks you will be shreaded. Good luck.

    this is in your mind. I dieted for 10 months for my shows this past year and I gained strength all the way up until i got below 5-6% bodyfat and then i lost strength simply because I didn't have the balance for heavy weights & i was scared of injury... that and i was too tired to hardly stand up. You aren't lean enough at this point that you should be experiencing that. I think you've done a great job with cutting thus far, just keep a strong mind!

    Well I'll have to agree. I've been cutting, yet been increasing my strength week to week. I'm in the high teens in BF% though, but the fact remains that I'm able to keep upping the weight and setting PRs while removing 1.5lbs a in fat weekly. Now as far as mass, I don't see any major improvements in the month. My biceps increased 0.25inches one week, but then went back down. My thighs went from 23.5" to 24" one week, then back down. But strength has increased, I can tell you that.

    I think the secret is lots of sleep, even naps during the evening if you can. I've been napping 20 minutes after my workout for 1-2 hours. I'll come home, drink my shake, eat my oats and go to sleep. I wake up and my muscles feel very full and swolen.

    I know my strength shouldn't be dropping at this point, and I really don't think it has. Let me rephrase that- if I removed the demands of extra cardio post-workout and HIIT, my strength would be the same. It's just hard to squat or deadlift the next day after a HIIT workout, or after a lifting and cardio session the night before. I guess my body can only take so much, and thus with all the cardio, my legs havn't been able to recover and show their true strength. So in that sense, yes my strength has dropped like I originally stated. But who knows how high my deadlift and squat would be if I used diet alone to cut. Then again, I wouldn't have been as successful with my cut if I didn't do cardio...

    Hope I explained myself a bit.

    First let me say Congratulations.
    Iv seen ur pics from before and uv really dropped bf%! u were pretty high bf% before and wasnt very impressive but now its just awesome. as for whether or not to cut more. thats prefernece really.

    i think ur bf% is low enough to start a good clean bulk but if u want to look more shredded then by all means go for it. i dont think 8% is that far off anyway!
