i have used many routines and to be honest with you a lot have worked for me and i think the the reason they worked for me is because i always kept switching things up. reps, sets, tempo, i always changed something up. the only routine that didnt work for me was two a days. training a big muscle in the morning and then a smaller one later in the afternoon. all it did was waste my summer being tired and fatigued the whole time.
