    Serratus Anterior/"Boxer's Muscle" exercises

    *im not spot reducing*

    looking to look for some more exercises. Ive found a couple on exrx.net, wanted to know if anyone got some more exercises for it

    hmm, whys it called the boxers muscle?
    Deadlifting 550 @ 180lbs two weeks before a competition gave me 2 inguinal hernias... what did the gym give u this month?

    pushup position. let your body drop between your shoulders, than push it back up. This is usually not hard enough, so you can do it with one arm at a time or weighted. Also, on a bench, just hold the bar at extention and move your shoulders up and down.

    My serratus' are large. Not sure why but it is probably due to the way I bench.

    I never due an exercise to work on them specifically but I have seen an exercise that is best described as a "barbell bench press shrug".

    Hold a barbell up on the flat bench while laying on your back with your elbows locked. Then shrug your shoulder blades up towards the ceiling while keeping the elbows locked.

    This muscle rotates your shoulder blades forward. It is called the boxer's muscle since boxers punch a lot and the shoulder blade is brought forward during the punch and as a result the muscle grows.

    Russian twists are also great.

    I did that exercise today, for some reason it felt like I was working on my lats as well (i could feel the contraction on the boxer's muscle part too)---am I doing it right?
