    Well the 1980 O, was.

As it turned out, while the rules stated that individuals had to officially enter their application to compete one month before the contest, the IFBB bent the rule and let Arnold enter the day before! He waited that long because by that point he knew who the judges were. CBS, who was there to film the event for future televising, was convinced it was fixed and discovered that a majority of the judges had either close personal or financial ties with Arnold. Well, so convinced - and pissed off - was CBS Sports that, despite the time, money and effort required to send a film crew half way around the world to Australia to film a sporting event, they refused to air that contest. As further evidence, I suggest you view the video of the 1980 Mr. Olympia, which can be purchased from my Web site.
To are plenty of websites, that agree with the 1980 O, being fixed.

I personally think, that was the only O, that was fixed. The rest are true competition.

Course its fixed, you only see the show part not the judging that goes on in the day, and Weider says who wins, not the judges IMO, after all its his federation and his show and his front man that go to the public, so he picks a police officer - maybe the public will accept hardcore bbing with a cop at the top?

    My opinions anyway.

well, the 2001 olympia could of gone either way imo....I choose Jay because of his better midsection and condiotioning but his back was not even close.
I wouldn't say they are fixed but if Ronnie and his competitor were equals on stage they would always choose Ronnie because he is the reigning Mr Olympia.
The 2005 Olympia wasn't fixed though, thats for sure....Ronnie was the best on stage

I think its absurd that you could think its fixed. Atleast first place isn't fixed. I might disagree with some of the other guys placings but Ronnie diserves his wins. I even think he diserved his 2001 victory over Jay Cutler.

well, seeing as how there hasn't been a "Weider sponsored" athlete win the Olympia in ages, I don't see how or why people would think it is fixed.

Yes and no if someone is gonna dethrow the current mr o then he has to completely blow him out the water otherwise if he’s a little off he still get the win. I think the judges want to see consistency just cuz they look good one year they don’t want to give the title If u don’t seem to keep that shape

No, and that includes the 1980 Olympia. It’s only bodybuilding. **** isn’t even that serious. Bodybuilding is not a sport. It’s a glorified beauty contest and nothing more. Most people on the street won’t know who mr Olympia is. It only appeals to a minority.

No judge has ever come forward and said the contests are fixed. Not one. Only the losers like Mentzer kept on bitching about politics in bodybuilding. What politics? It’s only bodybuilding that most people don’t even care about.
