I start baseball in about a month or two, and want to gain some mass. I would like a 3 or 4 day workout schedule that consists of only free weight exercises. Reps for all posts that are useful. Thanks to all that reply.

your only 14, just listen to what that guy said...light weight shoulder cuff work, abs, flexibility
power is not really how big you are its how fast you get the bat through the zone and whether or not you make solid contact with the ball....I'd suggest practicing with a wood bat and not aluminum, it'll train you to hit the ball more squarely or else your hands will get stung
if you make solid contact with the ball then it will get hit hard

I would listen to these guys and get a form of swinging down. Like how Barry Bonds did for 12 years and then juice up.... Check this out here is something to help ya with baseball:

i'd wait
If you have someone who is an experienced lifter that can lift with you to make sure you are doing propper workouts i think it would be okay but since your young I wouldn't just go by yourself and try things, you could hurt yourself. I'd wait till I was in highschool but as I said if someone knowledgable is around go for it but with baseball ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR FLEXIBILITY with lifting. Strecth very often if you lift. Oh and also if you put alot of ewight on quickly you will in all likelihood significantly slower.
P.S. Strength(or weight maybe?) is very under estimated in baseball. In highschool I would hit like 4 Hr's in a season which is okay but not considered a huge power hitter and I would only hit like 1 or 2 in Batting practice at around 175 lbs. 2 years after I graduated highschool I bulked to around 195 and went to take Batting practice for ****s and giggles and I hit like every other ball out of the park with ease. People don't think even if bonds juiced it would help him but the fact of the matter is is that it does help ALOT.
pps Dont do roids.Last edited by ckrumm24; 04-16-2006 at 08:03 PM.
