Hey guys, I am new to this forum
First off I am almost 19 and plan on playing some junior college football in the fall. Most the players at my school are over 6' over 250. I am at 5'10 right now and started working out. In about a month I lost all my body fat and got up to 160 of muscle.
I need some suggestions to become a good football player.
What are some good work outs? I am a very devoted person and plan on working out everyday.
I am hoping to hit 200-210.
please help thanks!!

now i'm a aussie footballer, so my workouts are very different to the american footballs... but anyway
Weights
* Major exercises, benchpress, squat, deadlift, rows
* Low reps and go heavy
Now i love cardio and sprint trianing, so i guess here is a good workout
Warm-up
Light Jog
50yd Sprints - 3 reps, 2 mins rest
Push-up 30yd sprint* - 5 reps, 2 min rest
10yd/20yd/30yd Shuttle Run - 2 reps, 2 min rest
40yd Sprints - 5 reps, 2 min rest
* lay on the ground, get in a push-up bottom position, and forcefully push urself up and on your feet and sprint 30yd
Thats all i can think off. if u want to give some stats, position and stuff, i;m sure the next person doing up a workout for you will benefit more

I am a football player in college and lifting wise;
we always do bench on Tuesday (basically Chest and Tri's)
we always do either Power/Hang Clean on Thursday (basically Back)
we always do Squat and Dead Lift on Saturday (basically Legs)
Along with sprints Monday Wednesday and Friday this is our weekly routine
those 4 lifts stay the same every week but the other lifts we do with those Major lifts change each week.
we are 26-5 with 3 strait conference championships the last 3 years so that stuff has worked for usLast edited by SUFootball96; 04-28-2006 at 09:24 AM.

I am from New Jersey, I went to Governor Livingston High School, so I doubt you have heard of it. Scholarship wise, out of High School I was offered multiple scholarships to play on many different levels and I signed a Scholarship to play at Urbana University in Ohio, which is a D-II NAIA school. But to get me to sign, to make a long story short, Urbana lied to me to get me to sign with them so I decided not to attend that school and I went to Salisbury. D-III does not give out Scholarships so currently I am not on scholarship but I am using this as my Junior College and I am going to transfer and get back on scholarship in two years after my sophomore year.

Chicken Breasts
Ingredients necessary to make different variations of pasta
Peanut Butter
Bread(anything but white bread)
Fresh fruits and vegetables(variation here)
Nuts
Fish
I would also pick up a thing of Optimum Nutrition 100 percent whey protein. Then, after I got back from the grocery store I would begin a dieting journal...included in that journal I would take notice of the following things: How much do I weigh right now? What weight do I want to get to?(stress that) What am I going to have to do to get to that weight(I'll give you a small hint: Eat)? . I would eat 6-8 small meals a day, telling myself that every time I skip a meal someone else is getting bigger than I am, and I'm falling behind everyone. I would also write down in that dieting journal exactly what I eat and drink every single day, no exceptions. Every time that I eat I wouldn't care about whether or not I was full from the previous meal, or if the tuna tastes nasty, but I would tell myself that with the knowledge that I gain from reading these forums(with the exception of anything with Delta-Force in it), my will-power to consistently train and diet to the best of my ability, and my emphasized speed training 2x a week during this phase, I will become a monster. Hope this helps.Last edited by Hulk06; 04-30-2006 at 10:54 AM.
