    Additions to post-workout???

    I read this somewhere:

"Make no mistake or excuses, muscle pain and discomfort are no longer
acceptable excuses to avoid regular exercise. After working out, try
taking Alka-Seltzer, which contains sodium bicarbonate and aspirin.
The sodium bicarb inactivates the lactic acid produced by muscles
during exertion, while the aspirin helps ease the pain while kidneys
flush the toxins. [Not recommended for those allergic to ingredients
of Alka-Seltzer, or to those with kidney or liver problems."

Does this mean I should take some alka-seltzer after workouts or cardio?

Inactivates the lactic acid? So you can't feel the "burn?" That would higher your chances of injury, IMO. I'm with Ski on this one, No.

I believe aspirin, as well as some other painkillers (ibuprofin may also be one), can inhibit protein synthesis. I'm not sure on how it works, but it may be caused by a suppression of methionine being formed into the protein structure [1]. It is something to look into anyways.

If you can read around the pointless bickering of this thread, it may be a good place to start. Ibuprofin/Aspirin pre-workout
