Hi there, I am doing a research paper about, living with bulimia, and I would really like to discuss it with anyone that is willing to share their story with me. If you feel a little nervous to talk about it here where everyone can read it PLEASE email me at: jodisturdevant@icqmail.com
I'm doing this paper because I have been battling bulimia myself and I would like to talk to others to help me develop a wonderful essay. I'd even be happy to send you a copy of it once I'm finished with it. If there are any of you out there that would like to talk to me, and let me interview you on this subject please contact me!
I have ICQ also, and my number is: 20505804. But you'll probably catch me through email quicker. Or on here if you don't mind others seeing it. I personally don't mind people knowing anymore. I just don't want to be preached to, because I know the facts.
###I DO want to stress one thing though. Anyone that reads this and feels the need to insult or say something harsh or rude to me or any other female that posts here...please remember, if you can't say something nice...don't say anything at all.###
I really don't want input from anyone besides girls that would like to share their stories. I don't want to hear "well, bulimia is bad for you...you shouldn't do it" advice from anyone because I'm not here for advice on the subject, I'm hear to gather information for my, and any other girl's disorder.
Thanks so much!

i used to be when i was a teen. i wasnt overweight-about 120 lbs, but i thought i was, i started along with my best friend at the time. i was also afraid to eat in public. i didnt stop until i joined the army, because then we had to eat in front of people and anyways, there was no possibility of being able to be in a bathroom immediately after eating, let alone a private one, in basic training.
after that, i guess i just matured because i never did it again even after gaining 90 lbs during my pregnancy.
dont know if thats detailed enough to help you out, but PM me if u wanna know more.

My roommate of two years battled with bulimia. She started when she was in highschool and it carried through until about her sophmore year in college when she then started to get better control over it. It was interesting - at first I didnt' know and then she told me when she asked me to help her. I was basically motivation, support and a reminder to her that she really needs to control it. She wasn't overweight, and to be honest, I'd never seen her really binge eat that bad (like it never looked like an abnormal amount of food or what not). She was lactose-intolerant as well, and occasionally would "forget" her lactaid pills and eat frozen yogurt... that sometimes lead to the bathroom run.
She was doing really well at the middle of our sophmore year - getting couseling and not going to the bathroom to puke for a good few months. Then she started hanging out with these new friends, going out 4 nights a week (mostly to drink), and I think it may have started up again. She moved off campus and just about every time I saw her the next year, she was drinking. She admitted to me that the bulimia was out of her control again and she was getting serious help with counseling because of that mixed with drinking (a lot of times the drinking would cause her to want to go make herself puke).
She had a hard run with it I guess... it definitely didnt help that her mother was over weight, and I believe there was an alcohol problem in the extended family.
Hope that is the kind of stuff you are looking for. Like Rachel said, PM me if you need more info.

Both was very good information because for one the one about the army helping you to overcome the situation because there was NO way that you could go to the bathroom after eating...
and then all the info about your friend and how you tried to help her.
that's good stuff, and thanks for the offer to let me PM you because I might later on!!!
