I actually don't go to college right now, but I have a lazy-ass friend who does.
He was a full-time student living on campus, but today he dropped a class and fell below the required credits needed to be a full-time student. Reason? He got a complete zero on a mid-term today, and has zero attendence grade and zero quiz grade for that class. So he just dropped it since he was doing fine in his other classes.
So now, he's a part-time student.
He doesn't have any financial aid to lose because everything is paid out of the pocket.
His two worries:
Would he get kicked out?
He's also worried about any phone calls or letters that may occur that would let his parents find out.
Would appreciate your info, especially from those with experience regarding this matter.

What happens if you live on campus, and become part-time after dropping a class?

Well bro, im not sure about your school, but last year i had a good buddy that dropped or was dropped from 4 out of his 5 semesters.....Lol, he just chilled all day long, didnt go to anything....They would send him letters and such, but never actually kicked him out....
However, i assumen this kids parents are probably the ones on the billing info....He is definatly going to get a letter sent home probably within a couple weeks at most, stating that he has fallen below the full time student standard....They wont cancel his housing contract, they want money, they already have the money, cancelling it would take money out of there pocket as they would have to refund him a portion of the lump sum.....Tell ur boy tho hes gonna get a lettr in the mail backhome, and momma aint gonna be to happy

since he originally enrolled for full time nothing should happen, the schools still getting their money trust me thats all they care about. They shouldnt send any letters home but he could try changing his address in the school records from your home to your dorm just to make sure. The only place this should show up is on the report card it will say he withdrew from the class.

He still has to pay for the class, so what do they care. Im going to withdraw from a class pretty soon and I will drop under the required credits to be a fulltime student...but I will still be considered fulltime because I will have enough "attempted credits".
Im only dropping because the prof. is a crazy dickface with a 15% pass rate. I only have so much time in a day, and I dont need to be doing 6 hours of homework per night.
