Hi well my grip always give out when i deadlifts because im doing 10x5 and the last few sets my grip gives out, and i feel i can do so much more weight with straps. I've seen alot of comments putting down straps, but im thinking why dont i just get straps and train wrists seperately, i mean the deadlifts is for your back and hamstring not wrist right!! Another thing, can you make your own? It looks pretty simple, paying 10$ for two strips of canvas isnt my idea plus im broke. If you've made your own, please tell me how you did it or give me soem kinda ideas.

Tadaaaaaa alll done.
Time taken: 1hour 30minutes(Took so long because i messed up on the first time)
Materials:
Heavy duty fabric strips, such as those on backpacks and suitcases.
Large Needle(I used a small one the first time and it broke)
Fishing Line
I poked my self a few times with the needle but it was worth it, i saved time from ordering it on the web and money =] Also the one you told me to buy look identical to the one i made, plus the 2.50 is w/o shipping. I doubt they will break because i dont mainly depend on the straps, meaning i will use my own grip power until it gives out and then depend on the straps to finish up the set. Later on i will resew it several times with the fishing line to ensure no breakage.Last edited by Feel Da Burn; 03-05-2006 at 06:08 PM.

Be careful with those homemade straps. Sometimes when you get them wrapped just right it's easy to just let the straps do most of the work, but in your case, it's when they're wrapped tightly that they're at the most risk of snapping and possibly injuring you, someone around you, or damaging the equipment. I will never again underestimate the power of a properly sewn garment after seeing the miracles my grandma works, but then again I've never hung 200 pounds from her hand sewn tablecloth.
