    Chin Up Bar

Hi I was wondering if those chin/pull up bars that mount between doorways are a reasonable buy. They claim to hold up to 300 pounds, and are priced under 20 bucks. Has anyone had any bad experiences with these?
    Thanks a lot

More often than not. They are pieces of ****. I would rather go to a local park and do chinups on the monkey bars.

forget about buying some nice fancy pullup bar, not cool at all. take a walk around the neighborhood, it helps if you live near some factories or something, and look for a nice sharp peice of scrap metal sticking out the side of a building or something. scrap metal ledges make great hardcore pullup bars

It's whatever works for you. I've got one & I haven't encountered any problems with them, actually I think they're quite good. You might as well buy one & try it rather than never know for yourself...

I had one of the doorway type pull-up bars. If I recall it's hard to go very wide on them, it's only the width of a door. ha I don't know; it will suffice.
