while choking away a 3-0 lead is embarrassing, Aaron Boones HR in the 11th HR in 2003, 90 years of ownage to the NYY, and watching Ruth and NYY win WS after WS at Bostons expense is a lot more embarrassing IMO.

Because it's the single most embarrassing collapse in MLB history and has to be in the top 10 worse collapse in professional sports history. IMO that is worse than going 86yrs without a title. The NYY are steadily going downhill and you fans are slow at realizing it.

The interesting thing is that when they talk about Celtic and Laker titles, they include the ones prior to the ABA merger and the one's prior to allowing black players to play without being quota'd. Were those old Celtic titles any different than the old Packer titles - nope. Same with the Yankee's where they include titles from a time when maybe things were not "modern".

it is about marketing, but much of it it also about ignorance and stupidity. Not getting my knickers in a bunch about it, because this is how these things are often portrayed by many in the media who need to keep things "simple" for themselves.



oh wait, Redsox titles in 1916 is "real", the Celtics from 1960 is "real", but nothing past 1966 is "real" for the Packers *shakes head*
