There are a lot of factors involved, but it depends a lot on if your goals are cutting or bulking. Given your body fat, I'm assuming you're on the cutting end of the spectrum. In that case, you could likely reduce your intake a little more for better results-- however not by much. I wouldn't go lower than 1600 so you're in the ballpark.

yeah, i wouldn't worry. 1800 is definitely not too low. But it's important to make sure you're getting as many of those calories from clean sources and definitely keep up the protein.

    Good luck man.

actually 1800 is fairly low. not dangerously low, but low that you could be burning some muscle.

whats your normal maintenence? if its 2200ish then 1800 is about right. if its closer to 3000, 1800 might be too much of a deficit.
**disclaimer** the above is only opinion. it contains no capitalization, too much punctuation and (most likely) includes spelling errors.

well, your "supposed" to try 500 under maintenence.

my math says that you should be somewhere around 2100-2200 cals a day.

once you plateau then you can go lower. but i would start there first.

    1800 is too low

Instead of eating like a ballet dancer, you should be working out and eating like an athlete.

High intensity Cardio 4 days a week, low intensity cardio 2 days a week. 3 days of FULL BODY weight training (major muscle groups).

You should be eating an extremely LOW FAT diet and your training should take care of you.

Eat clean foods in normal quantities 4-6x per day and your caloric intake will be okay to lose your body fat and look great, not emaciated.

You should ease into the 1800 calorie range. Fat loss is about patience, so if you drop too soon, you increase your chances of falling off the wagon.

    Week 1-2 2200
    1 day @ 2500
    Week 3-4 2000
    1 day @ 2400
    Week 4+1800

I think it's too low, but that's becuase I eat 1800 cals and burn fat, and I'm a lot smaller than you. My lifting sessions are intense and i do a bit of cardio. For the amount of activity I do, i can't eat any lower or I wake up starving. But that's just me...

I really think it would be better if you ate close to a normal amount but instead increased your activity throughout the day as well as amount of time working out if you have time. When I was wrestling I would shoot for 2600 calories a day and would get shredded ridiculously fast. Read about G Flux by John Berardi. He knows what he's talking about.
