As of now, I dont wear a belt when a squat. Am I at risk for anything? Our belts a good idea?

dont let anybody tell u a squat belt is useless, yes, it will hurt your core strength gains, but after you get up to a high enough squat to use it (500+) then who cares, its alot safer and keeps ur back straight so u dont put pressure on ur disks,etc.
if your only squatting like 135, 225, etc and ur wearing a belt, ur gonna look ridiculous anyways (i see it all the time at my gym, i see people putting on a belt to run on the teadmill!)
i dont use a belt for squat my max squat is in the high 300's, nothing fancy but once i get a higher squat, i will probably use a belt, but i have one for when i do dead lifts, i ALWAYS use one when i dead lift, its very easy to arch ur back on something like that.Satanic Super Soldier Alliance 2009.
