A lot of even famous boxing gyms cost something along the lines of a dollar a day. But you have to buy your own equipment and unless the trainers see you as a potential amateur boxer they won't give you too much one on one attention. In terms of gear check out a sites like title boxing or combatsports. They have good catalogs too. Between some decent gloves and protective gear I say it should be around $100 or slightly less.

Depends where the gym is located. A lot of gyms are located in rougher areas where locals can't afford steep prices.

The gym I was at ran $70/month (or $600/year upfront). Of course private lessons are not included; 1-on-1 time will run you ~$40/hour. Starting up you'll need sparring and bag gloves, headgear, and possibly a groin protector. Expect to pay no less than $200 for the essentials (you'll also need a mouthguard, tape, gauze, handwraps). I bought all my gear from Shevlin Boxing since I had some extra cash at the time - they make ultra high quality products all custom made but expect to pay 50% more than from store bought companies.

$10 a year non-competitive, $50 a year competitive at mine (my coaches volunteer). We buy our own gloves and wraps, and they have stock gloves and sparring equipment (headgear, etc), too, but they encourage us to get our own for hygiene purposes.

    Boxing lessons - 50 dollars a month

    Boxing gloves - 36 dollars

    Hand wraps - 7 dollars

    Mouth Piece - 2 dollars

Getting a first round KO in your first Golden Gloves... Priceless.
