    Are PRAWNS/SHRIMPS a Good Protein Source ?

They have virtually no fat or carbs, pure protein. They are quite expensive but i love them.

If money is no object, are they a good protein source ? anything wrong with them ?

I think they're ok. Quite a bit of cholesterol, but saturated fat has been shown to have more of an effect on your blood cholesterol levels than actual digested cholesterol. I think seafood should generally be consumed in moderation though, it's easily contaminated and mercury levels could possibly become an issue.

Id eat pounds a day if i could afford it. PRAWNS and Shrimp are both low in fat, saturated fat, and super high in protein. yes they have cholesterol. but as the poster said above. dietary cholesterol has a significantly less effect on blood cholesterol than saturated fat does. a pound of raw prawns comes to about 700mg cholesterol, thats less than the body will produce naturally. (not that it matters, but a lb of raw shelled prawns is about 500kcals, 8g (1.5g)/4g/93g) yummy
