Best brand of protien before sleep?

one thing I have never done is taken protien before I sleep. I have been reading that there are man benifits including fat loss.
can anyone suggest a good night time protien?
All I have is whey (ON)
thinking that since whey is so quickly absorbed, my body will kill it in 2 hours or so leaving me empty the rest of the night.
Seems like I should need no carbs, no sugars, maybe a casin whey combo or somthing?

any brands you guys wanna reccomend over others?

I am a big fan of Muscle Milk before bed. You can also use cottage cheese or regatta.

Use your existing protein with some milk. It's cheap and effective. If you want to spice it up a bit add some EFA or natural peanut butter.

    thermogain is alright,nothing special
rec. dosing is 9 pills a day,so a bottle would last 2 1/2 weeks at that dosage.
my friend who swears by it gave me a bottle after i gave him some AMP.
he still claims to this day that thermogain is just like AMP but with creatine,so its better...LOL

That's 6 g of sugar, a bit of fibre, and the rest is in maltodextrin. Not great for cutting. I use ON Vanilla Casein myself. It takes some getting used to, doesn't mix very well, but all in all it tastes kind of like rice pudding - a nice change from just a regular whey shake.

Just use what you have now then maybe purchase something better later on. If your not currently drinking protein at night than any protein is better than nothing. Besides, even if you don't drink any protein at night, your muscles are not going to melt away.

I can't really afford "Blended" powders so i go 1-2 scoops of whey with 2 cups of milk and a whole lot of cottage cheese. Also some flax and fish oils.

This is what works best for me, not as convient or tasty but cheaper.

If i have a blender around i'll blend it. It definitely makes the Cottage Cheese go down easier. Otherwise i just shake it and try to forget about the CC. Some proteins mask the cottage cheese well, 2% has less of a taste than 0% CC, and i don't mind the extra fat before bed. Actually lately i've been mixing a few scoops of my whey into my CC and taking it as a snack or postworkout meal at school. Sometimes i get the gag reflex but i'll just drink some water and treat it like a mouthful of pills.

Cytosport whey Cookies and Cream is amazing in yogurt, i buy plain yogurt, mix in a few scoops and some Cottage cheese and use that from time to time if i don't have milk.

Blending definitely makes it a lot easier to go down but shaken is not a big deal if im just chugging it.

figure I will make my own little night time shake with a combo punch...
did you see the level in on casein, have you checked the sodium contet,is really high even if you dont have high blood presure this product is not good, besides has bad casein ingredients like calcim caseinate an inferior form of casein protein,250 mg of sodium is too much,my favorite and best powder after bed time is ERGOPHARM MASS MEAL,first ingredient is WPI with no caseinate and banana creme is as good as muscle milk

If you are bulking, then good bedtime protein drinks are: Ergopharm's Mass Meal, SAN Infusion, and of course Muscle Milk.

    Hey MM;

ISS Micellar Matrix for me either Choc. or Banana. Have taken this product for the last 12 months and I personally think it's great stuff. Delivers the AA's over a 7 hour period and supposedly decreases muscle breakdown by 34%.

    Total Carbs-4g / Dietary Fiber-1g / Sugars-1g+

    Peace

Don't waste your money, buy cottage cheese. It is a good sustained release of protien almost all night long. I think I read somewhere it takes several hours to digest giving your system a steady stream of protien. I sleep like a baby all night also when I eat it before bed.
