No, those are Powerhooks...they are great for a lot of dumbbell work. They really save having to swing the heavy dumbbells (I repainted my dumbbells since the first posting I made)

Wow, nice setup there rocket. Im going to be putting in my gym equipment this week, so ill post some pics. Full rack , adjustable bench, lots of weight, dumbell rack, loads of dumbells, olympic bar, ez-curl bar, heavy bag/speedbag/double-end bag, dip and pull-up station, etc. I just put down the rubber matting for the floor. =)

kinda gettin into the scene. got some dumbells as well and looking for a good incline/decline bench press at the moment. just need some more room!

Hey BA-60, home gyms are never outdated. Sometimes you just grow into other equipment, or you add to it over time. In my case, equipping the garage gym is almost as fun as working out. So, I made a hobby of it.

The Powertech is a strong well built system. I have been using it for a year now and IMO gives similar movement to free weights. I tend to use more free weights now, to build stronger core muscles and stability muscles. The other downside is that when I am out of town in a 'real' gym, I can't judge what I'm doing for free weights, because the leverage system allows you to do more. As an example I can bench 30lbs more on leverage than with an actual bar.

That little gym certainly does have a lot to it. I've never seen a mini-stepper attached to a home gym before. How do you find the lower pulley? I've found so many smaller gyms can give problems with it once you get to the top of the motion (ie full contraction on a bicep curl).

Very nice. Do you use the plate loaded kettlebell handles as dumbbells? How do you find the plate loaded pinch grip machine? I've been thinking about purchasing one myself but haven't been able to find any place in Canada.

No, I do not use kettlebells. However, I have seen people use triceps bars cut in half to make some plate loaded ones.

I really like my grip machine. Mine is an older one from NY Barbells. Next to my grippers, it is my favorite grip tool.

Hey Rocket. Not sure about dhartnet, but in my case, the cars have been in the drive (hot AZ sun) for the past 14 yrs. Doesn't make my wife too happy when she has to get into a hot car in the summer heat, but sometimes you just have to sacrifice

Same here.. Wife and I each have a Honda CRV, those stay out in the driveway.. (We use remote starters in the winter, freezing here in New Hampshire).. Since I got my first house back in 1991 (wow im getting old, 40 this year!) one side of my garage has been a gym, the other side is a rehearsal space for my band.. Important things first!!!

I feel guilty I train in the basement and use the garage to park my cars. But good to here training come first!
