Actually I beleive Gold's Gym makes the XR30, but if you confused it for a Weider then STAY AWAY!!! But in all seriousness I really don't know anything about Gold's Gym consumer fitness line, but for $240.00 you can't lose. Unless your spending $240.00 on something you confused for a Weider product .
But really, it doesn't seem like a bad deal at all, especially since it comes with cable crossovers.
I got the Gold's Gym XR 30 about a month ago and have been happy with it. It is definitely a good deal for $240. You can do a ton of exercises on it, the only thing to watch out for is the size. It is about 102" long with the bench attached (to the end of the leg attachment). Overall the security features are nice, power assist works well. The cable attachments to the bar for the power assist work great with benching and allow you to put a stop for squats.
Not too bad to put together either, i did it in an afternoon.
