    I've gained about 20 pounds this year, so I am fairly happy. I started getting very serious about a month ago with 5x5, and I am not happy as of yet. Only gained about 5 pounds in a month.

    my year was ****ed up due to injury. I was right on track until about 2 months ago. Didnt even get to compete which was one of my main goals. Then I decided to stop using my gear so much and focus on raw lifting and now I feel like a weak little bitch. Oh well though...there's always next year

    Edit: the one good thing this year brought was an even bigger deadlift. 4x bodyweight. Im pretty happy about that

    well the whole year from last january, id have to say 90lb bench press increase, squats i got into them last year around january so it would have to be 275lbs since thats my squat, wasnt doing squats before last year though was on leg press machine, hack squats, leg extensions. so wutever, i gained 35lbs since last year, arms went up 2 inches. among other things. didnt set any goals, never do...

    I didn't set any goals. I broke my hand earlier in the year so that set me back significantly. Nevertheless, I'm stronger than ever and have set some huge goals for 06.

    Nothing special here:

    Most of those gains have come in the last few months - did a lot of cardio in april-june (rowing) and lost a bit of strength despite my best efforts in the gym. Pretty happy with my bench as I'd been plateauing for a good 6 months previously and have managed to break through it at last, likewise with my squat since I started box squatting.

    My deadlift has sucked this year because I realised that I was mainly a back lifter and have gone back to the drawing board to try and strengthen my posterior chain, with SLDL and box squats. Seems to be working - my 180kg a couple of months ago was much more solid than the 175kg at the start of the year, but still got a long way to go
    Coming back after long lay-off due to combination of injuries and laziness!

    Current lifts in kg (raw):
    130/120x2/???

    Old PBs from 2005 in kg (raw):
    130/115/180

    A good year for me!

    Compared to what I wanted back in january...I have gained alot and broke many goals but have had some minor fails. First I took up westside so that was good to start. Trained hard and did my first comp on Nov 13. Came out third place in my province for 90Kg class and got my first metal (bronz) ever in any sport or achivement! So Im happy. Im still upset for not getting 405 on the parrallel Box squat!

    actually I didnt have any goals early this year....I just started goofing off with powerlifting then I got really serious with it

    (Im 38, been lifting on and off for 23 years...mostly off, lol)

    my bench max was 225x2 which I did like 7 years ago....early this year I couldnt even get 205x3

    now my max is 315 (paused on the chest)....also I am peaking right now to try for a new max this friday on dead and bench....I hope to beat the 315

    my squat max was probably around 335 early this year....in May it was 355....about a week ago I did 425

    I had never really deadlifted much....my best was 315 for 3 with straps....last week I did 435 (no straps) while peaking....I am hoping to beat that this Friday


    oh BTW...lifetime drug free, lol

    to be honest I didnt gain much on westside...I gained exactly 0 on my bench....after my 4 wasted months on westide i did a bench contest and only got 275 paused

    I did a 3 week sheiko phase..pausing every bench rep on the chest...followed by a delaod week...then one weak of singles...then deload again and test on Fri night....ended up with a 315 paused bench....and like I said I am hopeful I beat that this Friday

    18" arms (prolly 17.25 now, but high bf%)...

    17" calves (slightly less than 16 now...probably never been over 16.5....my worst genetic bodypart along with front delts, lol)

    and those are just my "body" goals because I more or less consider myself a powerlifter now though I was a "bodybuilder" for all those years, lol....I am not into the labels...to my mind I am an athlete and a weightlifter....that should cover it

    I havent set concrete weight goals yet but it would obviously be to take the squat and dead into the 5's...the bench into the 4's...raw of course

    also id like to standing broad jump over 9 feet.....I hadnt done that since about 6th grade but I tried a few month back and got around 7'6"....I was going to set a goal of 8 feet cuz I heard Grimek did that...but the other day a triple-jump guy was in the gym and I talked him into doing broad jump and he almost got 10 feet...that inspired me to get 7'11" so I dont think 8ft is much of a goal, lol (they say Paul Anderson could do 10 feet and some OLy lifters can do 12, lol)

    Although I'm not incredibly happy with my improvement over the past few months, for the whole year I'm pretty happy.

    Bench (June, started doing BB Bench) - 135X1 ===> 175X4
    Deadlift 185X5 (Jan, when I started) ===> 315X1 (June) ===> 335X6
    Squat (Jan, doing quarter squats ) 185X5 ===> 275X5 (June, still quarter squats ) ===> 255X5 (full squats )

    My vertical improved tremendously, although I'ver never measured it consistently. Based on where I could grab a basketball rim, I'd estimate that my running vert went from ~31" ===> ~36"+. Also gained about 20 lbs. .

    And fuzzwazser, 4X BW DL is disgusting, good stuff. What do you weigh?

    I weigh 262 right now which I don't like.
    6' 260lbs
    Squat: 270 Kg(595 lbs)
    Bench: 165 Kg(364 lbs)
    Dead: 245 Kg(540 lbs)
    Total: 680 Kg(1499 lbs)

    '06 Goals:
    300, 200, 300 for an 800kg total

    I just started lifting in September, an I really didn't set any goal other than to get stronger, and that I did...

    Bench went from 135lbs to 250

    Deadlift went from 185 to 405

    and my Squat went from 135 to 250(I havent really pushed for a max, working on form)

    At beginning of the year, my best lifts were:
    bench 205
    squat 195
    deadlift 300
    total 700

    My goals were:
    bench 300
    squat 300
    deadlift 400
    total 1000

    I got:
    bench 265
    squat 345
    deadlift 350
    total 960

    Was injured for a couple months in the summer, so I think it is pretty good overall. A lot better than at the beginning of the year anyways. Also, I weighed 190 January, now I weigh 230-235.

    Most importantly, I learned a lot this year.

    I had a really good year. I went from a 485 bench to a 601 bench in less than 10 months. I had five meets this year and set a new PR in each of them. The only downfall of the year is when I did not get to go and compete at the WABDL worlds in Reno NV. Kinda hard to do when one is deployed to Cuba! But there is always next year!

    Very happy

    Well ive played with weights for years, im now 16, trained 6 months seriously with weights, decided what i really wana do (POWERLIFTING) Made a program specifically for me, using all the good stuff ive heard about. Anyway i started 9 weeks ago today. Heres how it went (just maxed out today )

    Starting stats

    BW 65KG

    Bench - 70kg
    Squat - 81kg
    Deadlift - 100kg
    C+J - 56kg
    Military press - 50kg

    After 9 weeks

    BW 67.5-70kg at most

    Bench 82.5kg
    Squat - 92.5kg
    Deadlift - 140kg!! ya beauty thats up 10 since last week!!!! I was determined to get double bw atleast.
    C+J - 67.5kg
    Military press - 55kg


    Im totally into it now and have decided powerliftin is the one for me. Im wantin to get into goin to meets and stuff, im from scotland. I think it would be a good experience, squat sucks tho but it aint a proper squat if it aint A2G! :P cheers. Hope to set good goals for next year now.

    I wanted an above 200 squat and 150 bench. I far surpassed it in a small amount of time.
    Squat started at 175, now it's 225. Bench started at 130, now it's 170. I'm happy with this year. Only took 4 months.

    At the beginning of this year I wanted to Squat 315, bench 275, and Dead 405 (all raw). I met all of these goals about halfway through the year.

    At the end of 06 I want a raw 405 Squat (this should be pretty easily attained, my raw max is already over 350), raw bench of 315, (if I get this long time goal I'll be extatic), and I would Love to get my dead to 450.

    I ended 2004 with these prs, done in either APF or USPF sanctioned powerlifting competitions in the 220 lb weight class:

    Squat 600lbs (APF)
    Bench 446 lbs (APF)
    Deadlift 655 lbs (USPF)
    Total 1680 lbs (APF)

    I ended 2005 with these lifts, done in either APF or USPF sanctioned powerlifting competitions in the 220 lb weight division:

    Squat 622 lbs (APF)
    Bench 462 lbs (USPF)
    Deadlift 683 lbs (USPF)
    Total 1735 lbs (APF)

    Not as good as I had hoped, but can't complain as everything went up a bit. My goal for 2006 is to meet or exceed my numbers, but in the 198 lbs weight division.

    i alsmot exceed my goals haha. finally break thru my bw on squat and is going for 120kg. bench is almost to my bw and hope to achieve it in the next week or 2
