How much should 1 cup of brown rice be?

Im kind of a noob and I know this sounds kinda stupid but I do know that there are different gram measurements for specific things (eg; 1 cup of syrup, sugar etc.)

How much is a cup of brown rice in grams? And would you measure it when its uncooked or cooked (or does that even matter)

EDIT: Should this also be the same amount for oats??

Ditch your meal plan and develop a diet that combines sound nutrition with the foods you enjoy by eating when you see fit in the portions that allow you to achieve your macronutrient and caloric needs while providing sufficient micronutrients, energy and satiety. One can never forget that nutrition is a tool, not a restraint; the enjoyment of life should always come first. Psychological, sociological and emotional health should never be threatened by the attempt to increase physiological health.

I would always measure the items dry or uncooked. Depending on how you cook something it could change the weight. Also spend the money on a scale. A good digi can be found for $25 or a non digi for less.

I measure my rice with a standard metric cup which is 250ml. You can find a measuring cup easily. Also, 1 cup of uncooked rice will yield about 2.5 cups of cooked rice.

cup of rice should be about $0.25, if it's more than that, you're overpaying.

On a serious note, according to the package in my pantry 1/4 cup is 45g, so 1 cup 180g. Got a digital scale at CVS during the holidays when they had those cheap christmas gifts like coin rollers, valets, etc for $9
