I work at a textile mill that dyes and ships yarn to companies that make carpet. I have to push big buggies of freshly dyed yarn into a huge Autoclave to steam it so the dye will set. Each buggie probably weights between 400-700 lbs. I'm glad I workout or this job would be hell. lol
I work 12 hour shifts 4 days a week at most, but not all in a row. The pay makes up for the hours. Especially the overtime every other week.Support the Fair Tax:

Well, I just moved to Mesa so I am dealing with mainly seasonal positions.
Not that bad but at all three jobs I have..the managers are all women.
They bitch and bitch and bitch. Bitch just to hear themselves bitch.
The sad thing is I am married.
So I get it everyway possilbe.
Women should not be able to work with men.

Worst job I ever did was general labour for a furniture store during a blowout. I had to relocate to a different city and had to sleep on my friends floor for the whole 10 days. I did 10 days straight with one 17 hour shift and the rest 12-14 hours. I was making $8/hr canadian and waking up at 5:30-6:00 every day. It was complete hell, at the end of it I could hardly even understand what people were saying to me I was so exhausted. I was actually beginning to hallucinate at the end of the 10 days.

Ive done a lot of the building trade jobs , by far the hardest was being a roofing labourer ie the guy who loads the conveyer with the tiles. Twelve pallets in around 3 hours is murder on your lower back, its like a damn race with no rests.
I was actually kinda glad when I broke my ankle playing sport the week after I started it so I couldnt do it anymore.

loading the SHortening pump, 50lb blocks of shortening 10 each batch, 30-35 batches / 8 hour shift, +30 C temp ( 92F give or take ), flour filled air so it just sticks to you like glue,
blocks get lifted twice, each, once to take them out of the box which can't touch the loading belt, then once to load them on the belt which is about 6" below chest height.Venice Fitness in Toronto are Crooks Worst Gym to deal with ever.

1 shift 8 hours, on a stool, looking at Pizza boxes as they go by making sure they say Pep N Bacon on them and not anything else, because the electronic eye that scanned the bar codes as they pass on the belt was broken that day,
try getting up at 6:30 am to work at 7 for 8 hours on a stool watching boxes pass you, its like counting sheep ZZzzzzzz
ANother wonderful day
me and one other guy get to sit and watch the Crescent Cans move across a conveyor looking for small dents in the top because the shipment was bad and had some defective cans that were wrecking the machine that puts the tops on them, so we had to catch them, though that was only 5 hours it was BORING as well ( less then 100 cans in 5 hours, over 10000 cans passed

I used to do body recoveries. It was certainly the most smelly job in some cases and I puked on more than one occassion. Finding bodies that had been sitting in the summer sun for up to 2 weeks, their skin melted into the ground or furnature and the decaying blood quickly splashing out the their broken skin where you just grabbed ahold of, splattering it on you. You cannot wash the smell off either. It's with you for days.
