The Product Under Current Review:
Controlled Labs, Red Acid™: Fat Incineration Matrix (180 Capsules)
Current Stats:
Age: 24
Sex: Male
Height: 5' 9" ½
Weight: 164.5
Body Type: Endomorph
Training Experience:
4 years ago I weighed over 215 pounds at about 30% body fat. Sick and tired of being obese, I decided that I wanted and needed to lose weight. If for anything, at least my long-term health. With no diet or nutrition knowledge whatsoever, I got on a cardio and starvation kick, in which I lost about a good 60 to 65 pounds. Well, not only was this a very unhealthy way of losing weight, but I was also wrecking my metabolism in the process, and I’m now pretty much paying for it. Anyway, a little over a year ago I started back weight training on a regular routine type basis. I had been lifting on and off for a couple of years, but that pretty much went nowhere. When I started lifting a year ago, I was weighing 147 pounds, so I’ve been pleased with my progress in a little over a year's time. Bodybuilding.com has definitely been extremely valuable to me, because it seems like I learn something new here everyday pertaining to diet and training. Regardless, though, it has been a long road to get to where I’m at today. I'm humbly modest of how far I've progressed in the past 4 years.
Current Training Schedule/Protocol:
I lift weights on a 5 day a week split for body parts. For the major or larger body parts, I like to stay in the 10-12 set range, and for the smaller body parts, I like a 7-9 set range. As far as reps are concerned, I use a 6-12 range for all.

Cardio Schedule/Protocol:
This is what I really love to do, so you will always see me very enthusiastic about it. My cardio sessions last between 35-45 minutes in length. I sometimes, but its pretty rare that I do go over the 45 minutes. Each session will consist of either a timed 1, 2, or 3 mile run to go along with excercise bike riding. As of right now, here are my personal best time's in each of the runs. 1 Mile-5:31, 2 Mile-11:54, and 3 Mile-19:40 No doubt, with my intense cardio sessions, I will be putting Red Acid to the ultimate test.

Short Term Goals:
My short term goal during this log is to clean bulk to 168 pounds and minimize fat gain to next to nothing, if not lose a little. Obviously, the latter would be ideal, but we will see. As far as cardio and running is concerned, I would like to run a 5:20 Mile by the time this log is complete.
Long Term Goals:
My long term goal is to reach 185 pounds in the 10-12% body fat range. As far as cardio and running is concerned, I would like to run a 5:00 Mile someday.

Official Write-Up
Red Acid™: Fat Incineration Matrix (180 Capsules)
Red Acid™ is the most advanced fat incineration matrix ever to reach the
market. It combines a synergistic blend of naturally occurring fatty acids
and fatty acid analogues that serve as endogenous agonists of peroxisome
proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-alpha) and help to modulate
ghrelin levels, producing a hunger satisfaction that effectively lowers your
food intake. The fatty acid blend also helps stimulate glycerol and fatty
acid release from adipocytes throughout the body.

Red Acid™ Write-Up:
Most people have trouble losing their fat stores because they cannot control
their food intake while on a cutting or maintenance phase. Even with proper
diet and cardio, many individuals will eventually experience problems losing
fat at an "optimal" rate. Now we have the answer: Red Acid™. Red Acid™ is
the most advanced fat incineration matrix ever to reach the market. Unlike
other fat loss products, Red Acid™ helps you to achieve fat loss via several
different pathways. It combines a synergistic blend of naturally occurring
fatty acids and fatty acid analogues that serve as endogenous agonists of
peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-alpha) and help to
modulate ghrelin levels, producing a hunger satisfaction that effectively
lowers your food intake. The fatty acid blend also helps stimulate glycerol
and fatty acid release from adipocytes throughout the body. Herbal appetite
suppressants that work via the CNS rather than the digestive tract, like our
fatty acid blend does, were included to address the same appetite problem,
but via a different pathway, the brain. Natural energizers and thermogenics
have also been added to increase activity in the gym, which leads to calorie
use. Enhanced focus is also attained by the addition of some of the most
thoroughly researched nootropics.
The REDuction Complex™ (Fatty Acids and PPAR-alpha):
Red Acid™ contains a fatty acid matrix that includes Oleoylethanolamide (OEA)
and Tetradecylthioacetic Acid. OEA is a fatty acid that is anaturally occurring
amide of ethanolamine and oleic acid. It starts working
once it reaches the duodenum (the upper 1/3 of the small intestine) and is
normally synthesized there by your body. It serves as an endogenous agonist
of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-alpha) and
regulates lipid metabolism. OEA also activates vagal sensory afferent
neurons and excites nodose ganglion neurons, which leads to decreased
appetite and satiety. This naturally occurring fatty acid therefore inhibits
food cravings and helps release fat from its stores in the body.
Tetradecylthioacetic acid is a fatty acid that reduces total
cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL/HDL cholesterol when
used in combination with a good diet and also exhibits anti-inflammatory
effects. Tetradecylthioacetic acid, like OEA, is an agonist of peroxisome
proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-alpha).
Tetradecylthioacetic acid has been shown to increase catabolism of
fatty acids and exhibit antiadiposity effects. Tetradecylthioacetic acid
will help to effectively remove fat from its body stores and without forcing
your body to effectively use it for energy. This allows you to “burn” fat at a
much higher level than by simply exercising.
The Transport Mechanism:
A few hundred milligrams of flaxseed oil powder has also been added to aid
in the transport of these two fatty acids into the duodenum and other
necessary areas, so that they can be utilized completely.
The Red Sweat Complex™ (Thermogenics, Nootropics, and Appetite Suppression via CNS):
We have combined the most effective and potent thermonutrients to increase
the utilization of energy in your body. The most potent extracts of
energizing ingredients were included to make your trip to the gym one you
would not forget. If you do not work out with intensity you cannot realize
your true potential for fat loss and lean body mass accumulation. Intensity
in the gym cannot be accomplished without focus either; you need the mental
acuity that only our top of the line nootropics can provide in order to
excel at your fat loss goals.
The Red Slob Complex™ (Herbal Appetite Suppression, Thyroid Support, and Digestion Aids):
Lastly, we added a proprietary blend of potent herbal appetite suppressants,
digestion aids, thyroid support and stomach soothing compounds that work in
synergy to target one of the hardest parts of fat loss: eating right. This
blend effectively targets the central nervous system (CNS) to control your
desire for food (without nausea or discomfort) and when combined with the
anorexic effects of OEA you are in for a powerful combination.
If you want to decrease your appetite, get rid of unwanted body fat, ramp up
your endurance and enhance your focus in the gym, then Red Acid™ is the
right choice for you.
Red Acid™ makes an excellent stack when used in conjunction with Blue
Rhino™. Together they will help you lose body fat and maintain your
testosterone levels during a cutting (fat loss) phase.

Red Acid, Day 1, First Dose
I took my first dose earlier today 40 minutes before lunch. I hadn't ate for 3 1/2 hours, so my stomach was growling a little bit. About 20 minutes after I had took the dose, my hunger began to noticeably subside, however I still had that hypoglucose feeling. One thing that surprised me, was after my oats, strawberries, and banana, I was full. Considering how long it had been since I ate, I should not get full this easily. I hadn't even had my protein yet, but I ate it anyway. I don't know how Red Acid will affect my appetite down the road, but we'll see. Also, I'm running off less than 5 hours of sleep, and I was very alert in my mid-afternoon class, which is a little unusual, because the professor straight lecture's for 1 hour and 15 minutes straight. Trust me, a lot of people yawn in that class and become bored and distracted. The energy definitely impressed me. We'll see tonight with my second dose pre-cardio.

Day 1, PM Cardio
PM Cardio- I took my dose of Red Acid, which was 3 caps, 1 hour prior to cardio. I also took 50mg of Ephedrine 30 minutes pre-cardio. I was feeling pretty tired this evening, so the Red Acid and Ephedrine certainly helped give me the energy I needed to run. I started out by running a mile and setting a new PR by 1 whole second. I ran it in 5:30. Next, I took a 4 minute break and ran another mile in 6:10. And finally, went downstairs and hopped on the bike where I set another PR tonight. I completed 10 miles in 20:23, which was a 12 second improvement over my previous time. I was definitely excited about this, because for the past 4 weeks, I had not been able to bust through this plateau, which was set by the stimulate, AMP. But anyway, I ended up doing 21 minutes on the bike. While I was on the bike, I let out a burp that burned like heartburn. I rarely, and I mean rarely ever get heartburn. It got a little worse with my post workout meal, but nothing I can't handle. Just thought I'd make note of it. I also took my CEE post-cardio. I'm also ashamed to say how long I went today without eating and never got hungry. To be honest, I didn't even think about food. Energy tonight was nothing extraordinary, but it was solid throughout. I did not crash or feel very fatigued at any point of the workout tonight, and even up until now. Tomorrow morning is cardio once again! Good night people.
