Thank you
WOW, I am overwhelmed!!!
I never expected such a positive response (not usually modest). Do you know how they say you are the last to notice your own gains? Well this really holds true with me. I changed gyms in June which is when I began this. Everyone just met me and saw me at my all time fattest. Now everyday people come up to me and say, "man you look great!" I really appreciate the compliments but the thing is I know I can do better. I know I can try harder. I know I can get leaner etc. Everyone can it is just a matter of the mind.
TO quote a god... "The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it- as long as you really believe 100 percent." -Arnold Schwarzenegger-
That being said could I ask you all to pick me apart a little more? Pboy and a couple others mentioned I need to lean out. I TOTALLY agree. If you look carefully you will see that I still have a tire around my mid section. My BF is not low enough and I hold a lot of water. For instance, yesterday morning my weight at 7am was 199 and around 5pm when I weighed myself I was more like 204. That's 5 pounds but thankfully I have not yet really started to water deplete. In the pics I am not really pumped (just a little) I just went through my poses in the mirror and then snapped some shots. SO half pumped.
The Show?Oct 26th NPC South Jersey Classic> Light Heavy weight. I am 26 and have always wanted to do this but for some reason I was scared of getting lean? Who know why!? Guys, I will be getting help leaning out (a little more than hydroxycut) but that is for private messages I guess.
I am 9 percent bf (Rutgers Lab> hydrostatic weighing) Hard to believe huh? I think I look more like 11 - 12. My goal for the next 4 weeks is to loose 75% of the water I am holding and get down to 5% fat which I will measure thursday before the show.
I did post my diet schedule in the nutrition board if you want to check it out... People mock it but I lost 47 pounds in less than 4 months and kept a good deal of muscle. I believe in a slow steady decline. I will not load / deplete as my body is unpredictable enough...
Ok, sorry that was sooooo long. If anyone has questions or comments they are always welcome. I have a lot of time on my hands here at work. Thanks again for the kindness, remember to provide criticism where necessary.

oh and as far as breathing for poses....
Front / Back Lat spread and rear double bicep > Yes it helps to expand the rip cage and enlarge the chest and look of upper muscularity.
Front double bi, a half breath helps so you can also keep your abs in control.
Side chest, side tricep, abs & thighs, and most muscular is the opposite. Exhale all the way and squeeeeeeze the abs along with everything else.
For standing relaxed I like a half breath for each quarter turn. They say you are out there a while and if you start messing with your breathing your abs (and everything else) will get out of control. The second that happens you get marked down. LOL
I learned a very valuable trick. Maybe you all can share any you have learned here too. I learned that for a front / Rear lat spread that when you dig your fists in to your side you want to roll your wrists down and pull your arms UP ^ This will widen the lats the most and rolling your wrists down will help the judges see your midsection better.
Later.
PSSS. You will all learn that I am hard to shut up. I don't talk much but I type like a yenta."The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."

ok, this is my current diet. It is important to understand that everyone has a different basil metabolic rate. The following is my pre-contest diet plan. This plan works for me. For the initial 4 to six weeks I just cleaned up what I ate. Then this began @ 9 weeks out. I am currently 4 weeks out and 9% fat. I am aiming for 5% fat...

1 tsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
3

8 oz. Chicken or Red Meat (93% fat free or better)
200 Grams of Yam
2 cups of Green Vegetables (green beans, broccoli, asparagus)
1 tsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
4

1 Protein Shake containing 40 to 50 Grams of Protein and very little Carbohydrates 2 – 10 Grams
5

6

1000 Milligram Vitamin C

Green beans, Broccoli, etc.
1 tsp. Flaxseed Oil
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
Meal timing is important
Every Sunday reduce calories (by meal weight) until you reach 1000 calories per day (for last 7 to 10 days)
Once this stage has begun you must adhere to the plan EVERY DAY of the week.
WATER: Reduce to 1 gallon per day until the last week. Then water intake will be reduced daily.
During the day before the show you may only have a pre-measured amount of Ice chips depending on how much water needs to be reduced."The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."

Well I may have to up the cardio. sometimes that's the only way. I am also cutting daily calories each week so that helps. I am told the biggest thing is water retention. In fact, my mentor has instructed me that I will be losing about 5 to 7 pounds of water the last week or so. I will be also using preperation H and thiomucase around my midsection to aid this process.

No you are not showing ignorance. It is just one of those little secrets the general public are unaware of. Kind of like the premise of before and after photos.
Great way to market but 8 times out of 10 the subject did NOT use the product to show the illustrated results... LOL
Ok, Preperation H is an anti Inflamatory. I don't recomend this unless it is a last resort although a pharmacist told me that it really can hurt you unless you drink it lol.
Spread it on your trouble areas (I will also be wrapping myself with plastic wrap and going to bed that way for a couple days). You should be careful though especially if you are taking low amounts of water. Don't want to dehydrate.
The thiomucase is a product from france. They sell it on this website. You can read the write up but basically it helps get rid of problems like ours. One note though. Only apply to one target area at once. If you put it all over it will not work anywhere. So for you and I just "apply a marble size amount to the abdominal area."
And there you go..."The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."

I have never tried the ripping gel. Have you? Does it work? I would be willing to buy something that's $50 to $100 if I knew it did what it says it does... LOL most supplements don't

Ripping Gel
I've never tried Ripping Gel, but am using something called Dermalin APg by Klein Becker. I got it off ************.com and paid 66.99. Its workin ok...not spectacular results like they show in the ads...lol...but have noticed some reduction. Its a similar type thing...its supposed to actually burn the fat...

Hey txwakeskater thanks for the honesty. I personally think my arms can use work. Currently they ar e 17 inches but every time I look in the mirror I am disgusted with them. I have hired a trainer to help with symetry and we are training bi's twice a week with insane intensity.
Has anyone in here had good results with Site Enhancement Oil? If you don't know what it is please don't ask here. Yes it is legal, just pm me if you don't know. I am thinking of using it to help my arms catch up but want to keep a natural muscle look.
As far as legs, my hams are great and when they are pumped I have no complaints. My quads are large but I am still working on seperation and that is all diet and cardio. I am now down about 3 pounds from the last pics and I have another 5-6 more to go. I was hoping to come in right around 198 but looks like 192 will be more realistic."The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."

Jay, you look fantastic! You have definitely undergone an incredible transformation - and you're definitely a hottie now!
If you have a girlfriend or wife, and having been the victim of a bb husband myself, I know that she is very pleased with the new scenery.
Congratulations, don't freak out, you've come a long way and look impressive and only have a few more weeks to go, keep it up and Good Luck!
I'm really looking forward to seeing your contest pics.

Lean and Lovely, you know it's funny that I have always lifted weights for sports and my own general satisfaction. But when you lean out (I still have a lot of work to do) and others begin complementing you that really does make you feel good. Thank you!
You mention being the victim of a bb husband. What does this mean? Are you referring to the sacrifices ie. never seing one another, never eating together, not being able to party together? If so yeah that sucks. Hope that's as far as the abuse goes. We all get cranky when we are hungry or when we see others having fun at a party, but it is our choice to live this life and those of us who love the sport don't take it out on others.
I am trying to fix the lighting in my basement so the pc pics will come out more clear. I am also taking regular pics from a camera and will scan them when devoloped. The show is 26 day away. I am getting butterflies just thinking about it. I will be certain to post pics because I like the criticism. I will probably be posting pics each week so everyone can tell me what's wrong with my posing (you be my judge). I beleive the person who tries the hardest wins and no matter how you look/do/think etc. you can always improve."The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."

Some say I train to much but it works for me.
1 hour per body part twice a week except legs (once is enough trust me).
Abs 3 times per week
Cardio is every day except sunday, my day of rest. I typically do 30 minutes but lately I feel I need more like 40 minutes.
Tanning 3 times per week
After my weight training and usually after cardio I go through my manditories. I think it would be better to go through manditory poses just after training. I also am a beleiver of isometrics and try to squeeeeeze everything and stretch in between each set."The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."

ALL CARDIO IS EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would rather try to squat a dump truck for reps than walk/pedal/climb for 30 minutes of boring cardio. Sometime when I am on the bike I hang my head down and try to fall asleep while pedaling... LOL
I started June 20th (about) at 245lbs. Pics were last week when I was 199 in the am. I am now 196 in the am 200 in the pm (still not water depleting)."The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."

During contest prep, while working out I'm constantly hitting poses between sets and doing isometrix for the muscle I'm working at the time. I really believe it helps to make you harder. You get some funny looks sometimes, but oh well?
Jay, I don't know about you, but I was having a problem with calves cramping during poses, so I started doing any exercises that would allow it while standing on toes with calves flexed. I did this for my first show but not for the second, and It made a big difference.
Anyway, stay focused and give it your all. I'll be looking for the pics of you+trophies.Dixi

Thanks that's great advice. I think I have such big calves(18") because I am always walking around on my toes. I am the guy everyone is pissed off at in the morning because when I walk all you hear is thump thump thump. My wife hates it! lol
I also try to squeze them first thing in the morning when I have the least water. I go to cramp and relax a couple of times. I also found heavy weight high reps on the leg press machine for calf raises work to keep extra isometric endurance"The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."
