I was looking for chicken the other day, and they had salmon fillets where the chicken used to be. I guess it's a Christmas thing. But it looks pretty good, so I'm thinking about buying some.
Is there an easy way to make it, and does it taste good? How does it compare nutritionally to chicken? I like plain stuff, usually I just grill my chicken plain and don't use any sauces, so is there a way to make salmon like that? (Actually it would be better if I didn't have to grill it, because it's so cold out)

salmon is easy enough. all i do is defrost it and put it on the stove top with a pinch of olive oil. nutritionally it is awesome, look it up on calorie king for specifics. besides that, fish is good for ya. one of my main protein sources.
if you find it a little strong, use tilapia instead. as of now this is my favorite fish...no strong taste or smell, just good eats. cheap too.

I worked on salmon farms for 2 years between highschool and University and I can tell you now I'll never eat it again, ever!
I lived with a buddy who fished shrimp and we ate nothing but salmon and shrimp most of the time. I still love the shrimp but salmon makes me gag. I've had it in curry, in mousse, you name it. If I had to eat it with something I guess I'd just whip up some marie rose sauce made with fat free ketchup and mayonnaise and a little cayenne.

What I do is take the salmon, rub it with olive oil, and put it in the over at 350 for about 15-20 minutes depending on thickness. Afterwards I like putting honey mustard marinade on it as a sauce. I really don't remember the brand i like, but I do know it is fat free, compared to most honey mustard dressings which taste bad and are soybean oil based.

I usually just cook it on the grill or if you don't want to go outside I would recommend broiling it. I cook it on the lowest setting in the broiler and I let it cook until the outside is flaky. I don't think fish skin gets like chicken. Just eat it or scrape it off when you eat it. I always buy it bagged so no skin.

The best tasting salmon i ever ate was when i got a couple of fresh steaks and brushed them with a bit of olive oil them very lightly seared them, then put a heavy lid on the pan and turned the heat right down and let them steam in their own moisture for 6-7 minutes. I presented the steaks with a little lemon juice and some green beans which had been lightly stir fried in butter and garlic.
