    Barbell Curl harder than dumbbell curl?

    Are barbell curls more harder than dumbbell curls? An example

    You can curl the 40lb dumbbell Once MAX
    Can you curl the 80lb barbell Once MAX. If so, please mark equal

    For some reason it's about equal with me, and that's funny considering with most lifts I could lift alot more on a BB than the combination of two DBs. You know come to think of it, I can strictly curl two DBs that are heavier when put together than the weight I use for regular BB curls...

    I think it is like a car, a 2 wheel drive (dumbell) with a total power of say 100 in each wheel would have more trouble off-road than a 4 wheel car (barbell) with a power of 50 in each wheel, even though the power equals the same.
