    Strong Immune System

    Hello,

I have noticed in the 3-4 years I've been seriously lifting that I tend to get sick a more often than before. I don't mean serious illness, but things like colds. I thought at first it was due to sharing the equipment in the gym with so many different people, but I read here that lifting does weaken the immune system.

So how do I bring my immune system back up? I used to get sick like 1-2 times a year max, now it's more like 4-5 times. How can I replace what is evidently loss when I workout?

Especially important now that we are entering flu/cold season...

    Chris

Having a well rounded diet would be the number one way. Also, washing your hands a lot helps.

my guess would be either over training, leading to a weak immune system
    or a deficiency in glutamine
ever since i started adding glutamine to my multi's i've noticed a distinct decrease in feeling sick or under the weather
do some research on it, its cheap, and works great

    I take 3 pills a day - 1 multi, 1 anti-oxidant, and 1 Vitamin C. All from the Vitamin Shoppe.

I agree with washing your hands more. If you are at a gym with the general public, any enclosed areas sickness spreads easier. Look at the office for example or schools. Keep your hands clean because sick people touch everything in there. I sound like a freak but doing this has dramatically decreased how often i get sick, even when I am working aorund sick people.

    And another thing

Try to avoid touching your face, mouth, eyes, nose with your hands when you're at the public gym. Nothing like picking up some germs and then itching your nose to get the them right where they want to go.
