    recovering from back injury...

I injured my back a few months ago but I've reached the stage in my recovery where my osteopath says it's okay to start doing isolation moves on my upper body.

I know these aren't as effective as compound lifts so I used to stick to them. What do I need to know about isolation exercises and what are the best ones to use for my arms, chest, shoulders, upper back?

    Suggestions:

Well I would ask your doctor first or get with a physical therapist but...when I hurt my back and could finally lift again I found seated exrecises to be best while I was still recovering. You should be real careful with anything where you are lifting over your head. It involves a lot of back. Go very light and see how it feels.

Just use the available machines for your chest and shoulders, anything which has good back support will work well. For back theres nothing much better than pullups/chins. For your legs i'd suggest doing bodyweight 1 leg squats, do them in the power rack and use your arms to help lift and stabilize yourself, the are awesome for leg strength and don't require heavy weights to be put on your back.
    Weight-198lbs
    Overhead Squat-158lbs
    Clean & Jerk-202lbs
    Snatch - 153lbs
    Deadlift - 400lbs
