Ahh you could be right there. I couldn't find the exact wording for them so they are paraphrased a bit... hence no quotation marks. So yes, technically they are not quotes.

My point wasn't really that the quoate itself was wrong but changing that word kills the effect.

Saying, "It aint nothing but a peanut!" over, "It aint nuttin but a peanut!" is like saying, "It is not anything but a chicken wing!" over, "It aint no thang but a chicken wang!"

(wang in this case being a bad pronunciation of wing and not meaning chicken peckers... just to be clear)
