    4 almonds = 1 gram of protein?

there are 8 oz per cup and 1 oz of Almonds has 6 grams of protein.
I wanted to know exactly how many almonds make 1 gram of protein, so I filled one cup with raw almonds (183 almonds quite confortably) and using a protein count chart worked out that there were 48 grams of protein in that cup filled with almonds.

That means 4 almonds (roughly) = 1 gram of protein

    am I wrong?

By the way, I read almonds have the highest protein content of any nut.

Well not all almonds are exactly the same size, so it will vary, but if you did the math correctly then that is a good guideline.

I eat a cup of almonds throughout the day at work and count it as 40grams of protein.

Maybe, but I wouldn't be concerned with it. Eat almonds because of the fat, not the protein. There are much better, higher quality, protein sources out there.

No, peanuts have more protein than almonds. Like everyone else has said, eat almonds for the good fat it provides, not the little protein you can get out of it.

    Cool

4 Almonds = 1 gram of Protein. That is interesting. I do love almonds more so than peanuts. Especially almond butter which many times I use as a base for homemade protein bars.
