I saw today on fitday that if u remove the crust from a piece of bread it pretty much halves the carbs and calories from the piece of bread.
1 whole wheat slice with crust:
Calories 68.88
Total Fat 1.18g
Total Carbohydrate 12.91g
Protein 2.72g
1 whole wheat slice without crust:
Calories 30.01
Total Fat 0.512g
Total Carbohydrate 5.62g
Protein 1.18g

Makes sense, the crust seems way more dense. I wouldn't cut it off though, best part of bread in my opinion
