    Calf Exercises

I have 15 inch calves...well one is lagging at 14.75 inches. I am wondering what are some good calf exercises besides the traditional seated calf raise and 45 degree calf raise. I heard that calf raises w/ a dumbell and standing on a wooden stool works the calves due to the ROM with that exercises.

some people, myself included, believe turning the foot in or out will emphasize the inner/outer portion of the calf..... ever try that?

do you do any standing calf raises? i do them one leg at a time with a dumbell in my hand standing on a step.

which? foot position or standing raises?

try both! doing the raises one leg at a time also helps with ankle stability

Standing raises. Also, is it true that calves respond better to higher reps than low reps, unlike other parts of the body?

Calves are stubborn little b@stards. They like a lot of work. I do both high and (somewhat) low reps, but I try and keep the weight up high when I'm doing the latter.
