    If you could only do one exercise per muscle group, what would it be?

    I'm talking for shoulders, back, abs, legs, biceps, triceps, forearms, everything. What would you choose?

    For me it would have to be:

    shoulders= Seated DB press
    Back= One armed DB rows
    Chest= Flat BB Bench
    Biceps= EZ bar curls
    Triceps= Skullcrushers
    Legs= SQUATS (too easy)
    Forearms= Hammer curls

    exactly... only I would do militay presses instead of db press... I prefer more overload (weight-wise) then fiber stimulation...

    Add weights to dips/chins

    Except
    Shoulder : bb press
    Chest : db press

    If I had to narrow it down more

    back/bi : weighted chin
    chest/tri : weighted dip
    legs : squat

    I would still be happy

    Actually, deadlifts are probably the most compound lift bodybuilders do.

    actually, can't you do them so they're not compound, ya know....when you don't bend your knees and just lower the weight with a bend at your waist? at least that's how i do em so as to not involve the leg muscles too much on back day.

    Compound exercises are multijoint. With stiff leg deadlifts, you use two different joints; the hip joint and the shoulder girdle. Therefore SLDL are compound.

    hmmmm, point taken. i figured since the shoulder girdle mainly acted as a means of holding the wieght, it would not be considered as being "involved" in the actual exercise. but i guess techinically it is a compound lift.

    thanks homes

    Exclamation

    I'm only posting what I consider to be THE ultimate exercise for the Triceps, no other than the awesome SKULLCRUSHERS! god I love them and they give great results.

    NP. SLDL also target the whole back as well as the shoulders, arms, hammys and glutes. One of the best exercises.

    I've only been lifting for 6 months, so I prefer the basics:

    Chest: DB press (flat, incline & decline)
    Shoulders: military press
    Biceps: DB curls
    Legs: Squats
    Upper Back: pull-ups
    Lower back: DL
    Abs: Crunches

    I know, not too original, but they seem to do the trick

    legs:squats
    calves:standing calf raises
