well you get hand strength - which has a knock on effect - I'm about to start some serious hand strength work in conjuction with normal training using an Ivanko super gripper.
When you close your hand the muscles in the forearm contract so I think its pretty safe to assume grip work will have very positive effects on forearm strength."my grocery bill looks like a ransom note"

those hand grippers dont do anything for me, what works to develop forearm strength are weighted hangs from chinup bar and dumbell holds, for size and also strength, db wrist curls work like a charm

hand grippers are usually not recommended. they were used in the past 'cause they were 'fashionable' like chest expander rings lol.
the problem is, look down now at your hand. open and close your hand. the hand gripper does not operate your hand in this same movement. it is not natural and you have a VERY high rick of developing tendinitis of the wrists. and beleive me, thats the last thing a lifter needs.
i would say skip it and stick to wrist rolls and holding a barbell as long as possible. or use on of those spongy ball stress releivees which take like a million reps to get anything out of LOL!Kill me. You must. For I will not stop.

yeah those works, my friend has never trained and he has huge forearms (and strenght) so I asked him if that was genetic he told me no its because I always so hand-grippers.
that really adds strenght to your gripI rape back.

lol, 10-1 it's his genetics.
you can't/won't get huge forearms from hand grippers. I tried them for a while, and, personally, found them to be a waste of time. You might gain some strength from them, but not a lot, and definately not size.
The best things to hit the forearms are
a) death-grip on everything you hold
b) hammer curls
c) farmer's walk
d) pull-ups using towels as handles and not the bar(saw it in the rock's training program and it seems to work)Booo

true. this is why if you are going to use them do increase hand strength only squeeze them about half way....hold then release....thats one rep

reverse wrist curls are godlike for grip strength ive found
i was having trouble being able to grip what i DL, i started these
start: 12.5lbs x 10
now: 30lbs x 8
i don't DL very heavy (255) but now atleast i can grip as much as i am able to DL - first step in the right direction for improving
on a side note these give an AWESOME pump..and..for some reason i can now reverse wrist curl more than i can bicep curlExcuses are for people that need them.

Buy captains of crunch. They are real hand grippers. Those ones you buy at stores aren't effective. They go up to 400 pounds i believe and only 3 people in the world are recorded for being able to close them.
