sprinting
As I said sprinting at 100% can be very stressfull to your body especially if you are a beginer. You should take the next day easy. Go in the pool, or do easy tempo on grass to flush the legs out. Be careful Im not sure if you have really done enough prep work to dive right in to full out sprinting sessions. You may be risking an injury.

sprinting
Yes you can in my pm to you I think I put down tempo runs on a football field dont take much rest in beteen each run maybe 30sec to amin but only run them at 60-75% this is an excellent way to improve your arobic fitness but it allows you to maintain proper sprint mechanics. But you can do other forms of cardio also. Your not really training for a specific competition so try different things.Pool, bike, anything that gets your heart rate up.

I have a bit of experience in Sprinting. I ran 100, 200, and anchored both the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 in HS and College.
My College coach was an Olympic Gold Medalist and Anchor in the 4 x 100-meters.
The warmup is very important. 2 - 4 of laps of jogging and some light stretching are imperative.
One workout we did was for 400-meter training, we would run 100 meters in 12 to 13 seconds flat for 10 to 15 reps. The rest consisted of the walk back to the starting line and repeat. The idea was if you were able to perform all of the reps for example 13 flat that would equal a 52 second flat 400 meters. 99.7% of people cannot even break 60 seconds in the 400. Perform all in 12 seconds and that was equivalent to a 48 Flat 400. That's FAST!
We did a lot of the training on Football fields with Artificial Turf was our favorite. Soft on the joints etc!
