hey, i'm new to weightlifting... i don't want to be a bodybuilder but i'm doing it to get in shape and gain muscle for rugby. Squats are essential to gaining muscle and even rugby cuz it help with explosiveness and so on. It's been 3-4 weeks since i started working out.. i'm currently cutting cuz i'm fat... lol was around 211 pounds when i started.. now around 203. Anyways i tried sqauts on my last leg day, but i totally failed. I know i must have inproper form or w/e cuz when i go down my heels raise up, put weight on balls of feet and i get totally unbalanced (lean backwards/forwards and eventually fall over). My first try i went down noticed i was on the balls of my feet and knew i was going to fall backwards cuz i was leaning too far back and i did... luckily was in the squat rack so i only bashed the back of my head a little. Anyways i need help with my form, cuz even tho i'm knew to weightlifting i know form is ALOT more important than weight and i need to get it down especially for squats... thanks for any help really appreciate it

when i first started doing squats i put a chair behind me and went as far down as i could and a couple weeks later i was touching the chair and had good form but you might want to start light since your new to squats but in time you wont need a chair
it worked for me and hopefully it will work for you
