My only problem with this is that there are very few (if any) people on here qualified to give medical advice (could potentially become a big liability issue). This was my primary objection to the Injuries sub-forum as well.
Sinners in the hands of an angry Mod.
Mod is a concept...by which, we measure, our pain.

weather you have this subforum or not, people will come here and ask for advice, and this section will help clean up other sections AND give them a place to ask, so people to not get confused as to where to put their question. I think we could definitely use this section
also, you could put a sticky saying somethign along the lines of "this is no substitute for a doctor and any advice followed is a your own risk and we are not liable for injuries"

As below. Most of the people who answer these threads seriously are fairly sensible. If someone comes in and says I have a *insert ailment*, most peeps usually tell them to go to see a doc if its not obvious what it is. The purpose is not to replace medical advice but to round up all the threads sekking it, and point people in the right direction. most of the threads are about skin care, etc and things that can be answered by members. As I always said, I think the serious rule should be in effect 100% of the time (unless someone makes an OT thread or something)
Yes, a "cover my ass" liability notice would definitely be necessary. There are many places offering health advice which are not officially qualified, but just as in the other sections, those who knew what they were talking about would stand out, as well as those who didnt. it wouldnt all be medical stuff anhyway, I expect mostly day to day helthcare stuff and wellbeing.
Are you after reds son?

never thought about that..but another problem is that a big part of the misc's attraction is when people make "serious" or even "normal" threads that backfire on them (when they deserved it). kinda like Hier Kommt's copycat thread :>
then again, it might also detract from the ever rising tide that is the misc. it got to the point to where you either have to be extremely creative/funny or bump like hell to have your thread last a second on the first page.
oh well, reps for at least trying (and maybe succeeding?). best of luck bro!OG lurker

i think its a good idea simply for the fact that a lot of unsuspecting people ask serious questions like this in the misc and get pummeled with joke responses. that and, people who are familiar with the misc don't even attempt to ask these questions because they know they'll get flamed. i think this sub-forum would be a good place, since it can cover some topics not already covered by any of the current forums.

Also, Some great references, Books, studies, websites, etc. On Alternative Medicines.
Holistic living is a growing field especially with the cost of health care. It may be nice to hear peoples responses (both postiive and negative) to non-traditional medicines.Team HALEO

This thread and the OP get my vote and approval.
I think these ideas are bang on with what this needs.
Ryan needs not advice on how to build a business, but he needs the advice of Mods and Senior Members to continue growth and stability of this site.
The integrity of BB.com is seriously lacking and people are growing increasingly frustrated at the lack of direction being shown.
Please implement these changes and appoint more increased presence in all areas of this site.Blood......Sweat........RESPECT!!!!!
