Solid news on the update Matt.

I know you feel like you're only digressing, but look at the positive side, you're doing more movements in your workout as time goes on, that's nearly a full body workout right there. Can you do any pullups/chins/hammer chins at this time?

Certainly NOT your ideal training, but that is an improvement from where you were say two months ago.

Enjoy the glorious day, been getting a bunch of small rain showers here the past 2-3 days. Luckily it's getting the air born allergens out of the air temporarily and it's cooling down the temps.

    Hey hey.

Apologises again for my absence; been working solidly though which is nice and squirreling away a few clams which is also nice. Had a few weight training sessions that have started to involve some light OHPs, uprights and my back exercises may ahve come up very very slightly but still super weak. Good news is my left wrist seems to be strengthening which is good. 7kg laterals no longer buckle my hand like the 5kgs used to - due in pat i think to electric stim on the elbow and some grip work int he form of plate pinches i do regularly at work now.

Been swimming though and the rib is cooperating nicely. on my first attempt, on the first push from the wall in my streamline position I felt a bit of discomfort but it wasnt major and didnt stop me. Actually felt remarkably good and did 40laps straight no worries. Could have gone a lot longer if needed but capped it there. The next day i had some more time so did 60laps non-stop. IM a stubborn mofo when it comes to training and i had that number in my head for some reason and there was nothing that would get in the way of that - my goggles were fogging and i was misjudging the wall but wouldnt stop till the end. Stroke was maintained quite well too.

Yesterdya did an easy 40laps again. Maybe a bit faster @ around 31-32min? and then today, that stubbornness came to front again and i did a PR i think. 100laps non stop. So 5km which isnt too shabby i reckon. The last 10 laps were trying though and my previously empty lane was fast filling up with retards with no pool etiquette. Survived it though. My original plan was 60laps, then have a drink and wash my googles but stroke felt great, so i decided 70laps. Then on lap 69 i decided im not allowed to ever stop on a not round figure kilometre mark so it was automatically 80laps. the figured fcuk it, we've come this far and pushed on to 100. 83min which is like 49sec a lap (flippered) but maybe 19laps backstroke i think in there.

Done more backstroke in the last 4 days than in my entire life. Enjoying the swimming. Amazed at how quickly form is returning. Might be able to try some intervals in not too long.

Weight is sitting @ 77kg. IM quite lean i guess and will be a solid <10% in a week or 2. I havent been eating mkuch but that migth have to change as the swimmign improves. I want to swim at least 4x a week. Shouldnt be hard given my vocation. Want to be crazy swim fit. Will continue the rehab stuff regularly.

Hips still incredibly tight. I have several very pronounced lumps (not massive but certainly noticeable to the touch) up my hip flexors. These are the cause im sure of my discomfort. Not easy to work on though given their location. Im trying witgh the rolling pin but not sure it is working that well. Last time i used a tennis ball there was actually the day it all exploded and incapacitated me (months and months ago now). Im worried that played some part so not going to get stuck in too hard.

Sorry for the essay there but wanted to drop in. Im lurking a most of you suckas so dont slack off. You dont want a weak ass, crippled bozo like me to have a better body than you! Might hit a video update in not too long to show off what not training at all, eating sporadically and admittedly poorly (though small cals) and getting blind drunk most w/ends can do for you lol.

Hope all is well with you all and will hopefully check in over the w/end.

Sorry again for being a stranger; all the support provided by you guys is appreciated mre than you know. I was thinking on lap 78 how badass it would be to say i hit 100laps straight to some people who might actually care hahahaha - then again, im a weirdo

that is great news matt! i'm keen to see what you can do with those intervals... and of course i'm stoked that you hit 100 laps!!! it's been a long road and am very pleased to see things starting to turn a positive corner for you. happy you finally got that electric stim going and that it is providing to be a good rehab tool.

keep at it mate, much better things to come

ahoy mateys. Dropping by to say a quick g'day. Things going along nicely here. Still rehabing etc etc but made a few small steps forward in some lifts (still puny but gone up a tad). Hips still giving me grief as well as the tricep and my knee is probably worse than it has been in a while which is odd and infuriating. Good news is the swimming is going ok. Since my last update with the 5k i've had 1 day off (the day after it) and swam the rest.

    Sun: 2.5km (lil hungover)
    Mon: 2.5k
    Tues: 3k
Wed: tried some intervals so did 10laps then stopped and did 10x50m with 30sec rest. Was going maybe 85-90% and not overly fast at that but nice to have the HR up. That got rid of any allusions i had of fitness returning - kicked my arse. I did another km after the sprints and was wiped out by the end.
    today: 2km

Going to take a bit longer before i've got any real fitness but all things considered im very pleased with the progress. Been a very loing time since i've done any cardio at all and a seriously crazy long time since I;ve swam this much.

Quite lean and weighing in @ around 77kg clothed and dont seem to be losing any more weight which is good. Going to keep aiming for 4-5swims a week and 3-4weight sessions. I'll throw a few sets of things in when im working ocassionally if i dont get a proper workout in. I can likely myorep some curls here and there heh

Im enjoying being busy though and have another 3 clients back in action as of next week so more work which si cool. Saving up very nicely right now.

Was hopign for a longer effort swim tomorrow but the weather isnt looking super awesome. I suppose i can swim int he rain but i like to tan up while im doing it - which is also working well.

ANyway - gotta run again. Stay cool everyone. Im still checking up on most of you at night but i have only 90min to shower/eat/relax before bed so I havent been posintg. Long days and an average of like 6hrs sleep aint so awesome all the time but im coping ok

I enjoy you return to the aquatics, heh you're already more swim fit than I am too, sad for me, but good for you.

Keep with it Matt, glad you're getting excited about it and doing it regularly without injury.
