    L-Arginine (NO) could potentiate seizures

With some threads talking about how NO products like NO Xplode gives seizures and head aches, there are some articles that may explain why.

L-arginine potentiates excitatory amino acid-induced seizures elicited in the deep prepiriform cortex:

--> NO is formed from L-Arg upon excitatory amino acid receptor activation within the deep prepiriform cortex, thereby contributing to the genesis of seizure activity.

The role of nitric oxide in focally-evoked limbic seizures:
    http://www.ionchannels.org/showabstr...p?pmid=9027881
--> The data demonstrate that exogenously applied nitric oxide or its precursors can enhance seizure triggering activity.

    My impressions on arginine:
Sure, its role in dilating vessels for maximum nutrient/oxygen uptake may be beneficial for bodybuilding. However, there are risks involved. Arginine is known to cause seizures/neurological problems upon a certain threshold. This threshold is variable amongst people - thus, some people are more sensitive while others are more tolerable. Overall, if you continue to get head aches or epileptic behavior, I'd suggest stopping ALL NO products as they usually contain arginine as its precursor. With so much mixed debate on the safety of Arginine within the scientific community, I wouldn't risk the chance of using it. After all, you only have one life.

Anyone else have comments on this?
    I'll keep my opinions humble.
