I just recieved a box of Universal HiProtein bars (Peanut Butter Flavor). Thus far these are the best overall bar I have ever Had. I have tried: Nitrotech, Pure Protein, OhYeah!, MesoTech, Detour, Joyride, Myoplex, Tri-O-Plex, Labrada Lean Body Gold, Met-Rx Protein Plus, Powerbar Protein Plus, and tons of other.

So far, taste is best for OhYeah! Bars, but nothing beats the overall combo like HiProtein does. (34g protein, LOW LOW LOW fat and saturated fat, plus low glycemic carbs and only 304 calories. Also, the texture and taste are amazing)
The power of carbs compels me!

The ISS Oh Yeah! bars are without a doubt the best-tasting I've had, but they are too high in fat and sugar for me to eat regularly.

I've been using the Myoplex Deluxe bars for a few months now, and they're probably the best nutritionally while still having a good taste and 30g of protein.

Nitrotechs have a lot of calories, protein and carbs, so they're good if that's what you're looking for (meal replacement), but they also taste like absolute **** and you can't get the taste out of your mouth for hours so...

I'm personally a big fan of the Clif Builder bars. Organic ingredients 8g of fat, 30 carb, 20 protein. Peanut Butter tastes awesome.

Man, I am so damn annoyed with the protein bar nonsense lol. All of the bars I have found that are reasonably priced all have soy in them.

I wish there was an affordable JUST WHEY bar...

Has anybody tried the new Xyience X-Start protein bars. I know that Xyience has had a track record of being overpriced and not working, but was just wondering what the verdict was on these. Thanks for any info.

Hey, convenience of protein bars is my priority and then i would look at the price and the protein content. I don't like protein shakes because its embarassing to carry it around and drink it. The ignorant people always say "is that steroids"; not to mention amount of time it takes to make a shake. Im on a bulk diet anyway, but there's soy in it!

The best bar I've found that has a good source of clean carbs is the Jay Robb Almond Energy Bar. It has all kinds of organic fruits and nuts, and pieces of dried yams (or sweet potatoes), and only sweetened with agave. It is sooooo good!

I found a super clean carb bar made with organic fruits, organic almonds, and pieces of dried sweet potatoes (great source of carbs), sweetened only with agave syrup. It's made by Jay Robb and tastes awesome! They also have a powder made from sweet potatoes, tastes like sweet potatoe pie when mixed with vanilla protein powder!

I just bought the "Powerbar" 23 grams of protein. My only option because it's cheaper for me to go to a local Safeway then to buy it online. I haven't actually tried the "Powerbar", but i will as soon as i workout later tonight. It has a lot of vitamins at 100% DV, but i would like to have a bar that has vitamin D; as the "Powerbar" has none.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    edit:
Hmm... it taste pretty good. I like it better than the promax bars.

    Met-rx

I just had MET-RX Protein Plus Chocolate Chocolate Chunk

320 total cal, 80 cal from fat (9 grams), 32 carbs (3 net), 32 grams of protein. It was no snickers bar, but it'll do. Not bad overall.
Anybody here ever try Instone's Stallone Pudding? 20g protein, 2g fat, 0 carbs...pretty good alternative protein source.

Yeah I like the Met-RX its not the best looking but it tastes pretty good, especially if you put it in the fridge its better cold than warm. And I'll usually have a glass of skim milk with it.

I'm about half way through a box of EAS Myoplex Carb Sense bars, and I'm really liking them. I'll have one of these about 2 hours before a wo sometimes. Reminds me of a Malted Milk bar.

270 cals, 28g Protein, 5g saturated fat, 24g total carbs (only 3 'impact' carbs if you're counting).

Check out Jay Robb's products, either here on BB.com or jayrobb.com.
He does make one soy protein powder, but he has a great tasting whey and egg pp and bars.

Jay's bars with egg protein are amazing. I can't eat milk and there are too many problems with soy. Makes things so much easier!

Those Nitro-Tech bars aren't the tastiest things around. I prefer the Meso-Tech Complete bars (the chocolate chip oat or the apple cinnamon oat). Taste incredible if you nuke one for 10-14 seconds.

Calories, protein, carbs. All the stuff a MRP should be. MRP's are supposed to have calories, otherwise they'd just be a gawdawful snack bar.

Thumbs up Hmm.. lets see now

Well i have just started munching on the Labrada Lean Body Gold Hi-protein bars (Double Chocolate bars) the chocolate taste is a bit montonous, as my shakes are vanilla all the way.

Maybe next time i might try cookies n cream or maybe almond and caramel (if thts available)..

GOOD SH!T worth the 290 calories...

The cookies n cream flavor was not very good. Of course that's only opinion.
