So for those of us who blend oats for shakes, could we just buy whole wheat or oat flower and get the same effect?

Yes it does. I no longer make shakes, but when I did, I'd mix it in a shaker bottle, and it dissolved and mixed flawlessly.

Right, but isn't grinding still more trouble than not grinding?

i dont really grind them.. i just toss them in with all my other **** i put in my shakes.. like whey , milk , banana etc etc

when i come back they are finely chopped up even included with all that other bull****

just put all the ingrediants in the blender.. turn it to the side to start it.. go take a piss.. come back and ur PWO shake is ready..

Ah, ok, I didn't realize you blended them with everything else, I thought you were grinding them separately and mixing them in. Yeah, I guess it doesn't make much difference in that case, but for people who use shaker bottles, oat flour is a great option.

You are better off keeping them whole or 'rolled' until you are ready to use them. They will get stale quicker in powder form.

So, whole oats ground up in a coffee grinder just prior to use is going to be better than oat flour bought off the shelf.

    Good luck.

At Shaws(major supermarket) they had it in the "wild harvest" section. That is the health section of the store.

MY S&S has it. Bobs red mill. They have a section devoted to only bob's red mill products like rice flour, oats, etc. It's not directly in the flour section
