Strength wise, probably 2-3 weeks as its very fluid. It will take a few months to get the muscle back depending on how much you lost.

Hey, great question, but you may want to ask Tom Platz. He has a Forum http://tomplatz.proboards79.com now and a website, www.TomPlatz.com. He is a professor in exercise physiology for 15 years, and gave BB seminars from the 80s to present. He has worked with a lot of athletes too, not only in BB. I do know basically what he will say. You are still young, so muscle memory is relatively quick. Some of the undesired weight gain was probably from the medical condition (inflammation) which will go away fairly quickly.

That sucks best of luck to you i cant imagine not lifting for 4 months. But sometimes i find when i take long breaks when i was an off and off again lifter you come back and gain more muscle then ever. Take advantage of it and do a lot of research on lifting and nutrition best of luck to you bro
