Maximum calorie deficit without feeling like crap

Just wondering what the largest calorie deficit you guys can maintain without feeling like crap. Right now I'm having a hard time finding the right balance between relatively rapid weight loss and a calorie deficit that doesn't cause me to feel like crap all the time.

The trick to feeling great is to create the deficit with exercise and not by cutting food.

If you can eat your maintenence and burn 1000 calories a day in exercise you're maxed out and eating plenty.

Just go for highest calories you can while still getting a 7000 deficit per week.

I just found an RMR and daily activities calorie counter and realized I was significantly off in my calculations. According to the calculator my RMR is 2700 cals a day, this I knew already. I estimated my activity calories, not counting strenuous exercise, to account for a further 1000 cals a day. I was way off - taking into account my moderate daily activity level, I burn closer to 1700 calories in my daily activities according to this calculator.

So instead of a 1000 calories deficit, I've been running a 1700 calorie deficit, maybe that's why I've been feeling like crap!

Hmm, I dont really understand your 2nd post :P, but 500 deficit to be conservative or 1000 to be more daring. If you go 1000 below you probably have to worry about scheduling high cal/high carb days to prevent weakness/dizziness/metabolism slowing down.

By my second post, I just meant that I had miscalculated my RMR and activity calories according to a calculator I found.

I've tried several of these calculators tonight, and they're not very consistent, I'm not quite sure what to believe.

my bmr is 3600 and i consume 1500. i have no trouble with energy levels. so it's doable to have really low calories and still not feel like crap.

Take your current weight multiple that 10 and there ya go on how many cals to get a day. Try this for a week and see how you feel if still not good multiple by 11 or 12.

1500 a day?? I think I'd have a killer headache my noon on a diet like that!
My job is pretty demanding physically, I estimate I'd burn off at least 1500 cals at my job alone!

I would start with 12 and then move down if you are not dropping 1 pound a week for consecutive weeks.

10 is a "starvation" diet dude. i weight like 168 and 1680 cals is not a lot at all, ( i am currently eating 1500 but im ONLY doing it for two weeks, and i already believe that after my first week, im already in "starvation mode" b/c i feel so bloated and fat) I dont feel like im losign weight at all.
